@4shot: As much as I agree that the maps you mentioned are great, the people of Forgehub simply don't take very much interest in MLG. And if you do, then go over the the MLG forum. They have an entire section which I'm pretty sure has both of the maps you mentioned. As for the maps, I had to go with Roundabout, even though Sanction and Of Legions were both great maps. But Roundabout just had a bit more uniqueness than the other two, so it got my vote.
Saying we dislike MLG maps is a completely wrong statement. We have many members and staff that like MLG maps. It is true however that MLG maps are not really as popular as some of the other different map categories.
Disregarding all comments made before, I'm just happy to see mine got nominated for FHF. ^_^ ...Even if it's average at best. ;P
Right there with you Blaze, I'm just happy to see that people actually enjoy what we make... Except 4shot... who only likes MLG... Which he describes my map as "not MLG..." Which is supposed to be an insult? Listen, Forgehub can be a very casual community at times but we are not MLG haters, I do, however, hate the kind of negativity I or other forgers may get for not forging MLG maps. We can understand the same basic design aspects of typical MLG maps and yet we don't enjoy that style of forging. My particular target audience is a lot bigger than that of an MLG forger like Ladnil, for example. Ladnil can do his thing and enjoy doing what he does best but we just enjoy a different kind of forging. Honestly I think that MLG maps aren't getting the attention that you feel they deserve because of the general audience of this site. I mean, compare views under competitive maps or mini-game maps to MLG maps. I would usually be against beating a dead horse, so to speak, but blindly bashing maps for not being of the glorious status that is MLG is the reason why people begin to hate MLG. I do not hate MLG, I hate elitists who give it such a negative connotation. But... rant aside, I voted for Sanction being that I'd love to see it get the attention it deserved in H3.
No, it isn't. You should've read that statement a bit more carefully, I was comparing Roundabout to most MLG maps, not stating that it was an MLG map. And yes, I've played it enough to know how versatile and incredible it is.
For some reason, I don't feel you've played all of them. There's a reason that all of these got picked as well as every other set of FHF. There is always going to be people that are like this but all of you need to grow up a little bit and quit complaining because people that did like the map chose them to vote for. And to the whole MLG thing, MLG is more bland in reach. In my opinion of course. Though it's just more simple maps and as for the gametype/playlist it's just as bad as say arena or competitive. Which I think causes the fan base of MLG to go down a lot.
lol fail, it's XIX. i haven't played on all of them yet, but i did enjoy diadem and roundabout. Ill vote when i have played a few games on all of the maps.
The creator of Roundabout is connected with the GodlyPerfection guys. This one is just another random supporting a map he has not played. If he did play Roundabout, he would have more to say than that. I had forgotten what Roundabout was. I was thinking of another map by the same creator that was in the testing stages when I made my previous posts in this thread. I played one game of FFA on that map thinking it was Roundabout, but as it turns out, that was a completely different map. However, now realizing what map Roundabout really is, I do think it is worthy of being in FHF. Still, I think Sanction was the better map.
If you were planning on trolling me, you should have done so earlier. I already made my point and will probably not make another post in this thread. I also find it funny that you made a 1-line post directed towards me thinking that it will offend me somehow. If you weren't intending to come off as a troll, then make a more iintelligent post towards me. I'm out of this thread. Too much stupidity going on here by typical forgehubbers, this one being one of them.
