Sulfide is a symmetrical ctf/ts/koth/oddball map. It was built inside the hanger on Forgeworld. Both Bases have a septagon in the walls to add aesthetics and reference points. The middle of the map is relatively simple. Ramps are located on the sides for easy access. The middle building is 2 towers spliced together to form 1 base with 3 stories. Bottom middle has a shotgun placed between the 4 main supports. Level 2 is the oddball spawn and has 4 access points. Top middle has rockets on a pedestal that has a narrows-like feel. The top has 2 access points which come from the tops of both red and blue base. A jetpack makes control of the middle much easier, but makes you an easy target for people around the outside of the map. The outside 'ring' of Sulfide has a bridge that wraps around and connects red and blue bases. Underneath the bridges are tunnels and a 2 way teleporter that sends you to the opposite wall. The Insides of red and blue bases have a partially open ceiling for easy acces to the top. The flag spawn is located below the grav lift in each base for easy escape, but running through the top middle is often times a failure. Out front of each base is a sniper with limited ammo. Anyways, I hope someone out there enjoys this map as much as I enjoyed making it. I'm still open to suggestions or improvements.
It looks nice but also a bit...simple. It uses a lot of premade buildings, and that is usually a problem when creating symmetrical structures. I might give the map a download if I get the chance. Until then keep forging!
I haven't had a lot of time to post my other maps on forgehub recently, but I figured this map was worth posting. Sulfide needs some changes, I just need a little criticism to figure out what needs changing. As per the premade buildings; I don't like making my map a 'sea of grey' walls.
