Hey, I have made four maps in the past two months that are aestically appealing and playable. The only problem is that my spawning placement/orientation and flow isn't the greatest. :/

I am looking for one or two experienced forgers (preferably with mics) to help me edit and perfect my maps. Please add me and send a message referring to forging if you would like to help. My tag is H0ck3yplay3r84 [that 0 is a zero]. Comments on this post are also encouraged.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is a list of my maps. Please feel free to download, play with friends, explore in forge, or critique them. Any reccomendations or suggestions is GREATLY appreciated:

Perjury: Bungie.net : Halo Reach : File Details

This is my latest map, and I feel, my best. I have tested this map with others, doing 4v4, 5v5, and 6v6 slayer games and all seems to flow fairly well. My only problem is that spawning is still some what of an issue. I am also thinking of making another way to reach the second level. I have thought of creating a second hole under purple tower and putting a gravlift in it to create another option for higher ground.

Redemption: Bungie.net : Halo Reach : File Details

This map was made a few weeks before Perjury and is largely suggestive of Epitaph from Halo 3. I could use help with weapon location but the initial spawn locations are the biggest priority. I've tested this with friends and they all love the aesthetics and feel of the map. Their biggest concern, like mine, is the starting and spawning positions. If I can create a symmetrical initial spawn system without adding an additional play area, that would be awesome. But my only fear is that the map is to 'narrowly symmetrical'. You will just have to check it out for yourself.

Crux: Bungie.net : Halo Reach : File Details

This map has bad spawning but has a fairly appealing layout. I feel that this map turned out a little too busy in the gameplay and layout categories. Don't expect greatness from this one. I merely created this to learn different techniques and styles.

Galactical: Bungie.net : Halo Reach : File Details

This is the map that started it all. Made a couple of months ago, this was my first forged map. This VERY simple layout has a cool concept, but is just too weak to meet standards. Like Crux, this was a learning process map.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Please post or message me comments, suggestions or criticism pertaining to these maps. I am VERY open to recieving good advice. I would really like to become an active member in the Forge Hub community by creating and helping with maps that are popular with players of all sorts.

Also, I am skilled at forging maps already designed on paper. If you have a map plan/blueprint but not the skill to make it, I would GLADLY take a look at it.

    Thanks for your time!

Your spawning? Dude, all you have to do is go into the menu, hit the x button on ur spawn, and change the team. If it's the flow of the spawning and stuff, Ill have to look at the maps. My XBL is mackjr1234.

I have the spawning set with teams and neutral and zones and all that stuff, but my problem is that it isn't very fluid and seems a bit choppy through parts.

OP, there are spawning guides somewhere on this forum. Give me a moment; I will look for one and either post a link, or edit this post with one (depending on whether or not someone posts after me).

EDIT: Stevo Spawning Method | Stockpile spawn bugs | Partial Respawn Zone Tutorial | Respawn Zone Tutorial (off-site)

So much ignorance in one post.

    1. There are more intricacies to the spawning algorithm than simply assigning spawns to a team. Bungie's algorithm is not perfect -- there's a reason we get the three kinds of Respawn Zones.

    2. Your solution isn't even correct, unless you want FFA games to be damn-near broken. You leave the points on Neutral, and conditionally assign them in team games using team-owned zones.

Try not to use a tone that implies ridicule if your understanding of the problem is even shallower than that of the person you're responding to.

ok awesome! I checked out those links and all are pretty amazing. Is it that simple though? Because I've already accomplished more than half of what those tutorials are saying.

Try not to over-complicate things by adding more than you might need, though. Find out how maps play with some real tests, then make adjustments from there. You don't always want to add an entire system when it may not even be necessary on a given map.
