Alternative version of ASYLUM. (ASYLUM 2)

    This is my own version of Asylum the way I think it should have bin made. I did not just modify Bungie Asylum I made it from a blank canvas. This took me 4 days split into a few hrs a day.

    REASON FOR MAKING THIS REMAKE

    The reason for this remake is because, There are a few things on the original Asylum that pissed me off. For example the open door of the round structure in front of the bases. when people spawn in swat they go for the door and kill the other team before the other player on the other team get a chance to kill them. I also did not like the fact Bungie did not really use up lots space they just put rocks there to fill the space. Also very little cover on the original.

    COMMENTS FROM PLAYERS THAT HAVE SEEN THE MAP

    Most of the people said this is far better that the original. I have also had a comment that there is a little to much on the map. I do agree that there are a little to much but, That's what makes the map look so good to me.

    To be honest i can't tell if you know that asylum was a remake of a Halo 2 map called sanctuary. If not your ignorance bugs me. Sanctuary was a great map. The only problem with asylum is that the edge of the quarry is open pushing gameplay to one side of the map. Plus from the pictures I can see less cover than asylum and spawns that leave you in the open to be killed. Want to capture more peoples intrest, make a 1 to 1 scale remake of sanctuary. Try to capture its ancient ruins feel. Then you'll have something to download.

    Dude don't try to upgrade something that is great already. This map is great already in Reach, and was great in Halo 2.

    Dont mess with a classic.

    Bad logic is bad. Halo 2 and Halo Reach play differently... therefore, the map itself in Reach needs adjustments.

    Asylum is also fail.. it's an epic framerate salad served with an extra dollop of lagsauce. Asylum needs improving and I'm sure the author has tried to capture this improvement.

    Try not to simply shrug off a map because it's a remake of a Halo 2 map. That's just foolish and I hate it when people do that because I never saw what the "amazing" thing was with h2.

    He said that the map was great in reach, and therefore didn't need a change.

    That being said... @OP- From your screen shots I'm getting that this is a very different map from both the Halo 2 and reach versions.

    True, but from his line saying "don't mess with a classic" means he couldn't care less about the Reach gameplay because he likes the map from Halo 2, therefore, he likes it regardless of it's countless flaws in Reach.

    I am not trying to make a remake of the halo 2 map witch was a awesome map. I am just making my own flavor OK because, The Asylum that bungie made in reach had some things they could have improved. I am no way trying ta capture the real deal from halo 2 or even REACH all I am doing is change some things around to have the map play the way I want it too.

    A shield doors in the cylinder are unnecessary, and will definitely cause trouble. Forget about aesthetics in this situation, because at the start of the map, everyone runs down to shot through the doors.

    I did not like the open doors. I have lots people on my friends list on Xbox live that would agree. On slayer its fine but, When your playing SWAT people piss me off trying to crutch and take the other team out through that open door so they can get a head start on kills.

    The shield doors in the middle will probably promote camping in there with the sword and/or shotgun.

    Not all doors are shielded and there are 6 doors all together so, I don't see how one person with a sword or shotgun can watch all 6 doors.

    i agree with broccoli, camping will be an issue with the sheild doors in the middle, plus the only thing i like about asylum in MM for SWAT is the first strike metal i get everytime when one, two, or even three players from the other team rush the middle sword spawn...... other than the sheild doors though, i can see potential in the map.

    Although it has some framerate lag, its still a great map in Reach. It was also a great map in H2. Just because they are different games doesn't mean the map cant play great in both.

    These are my opinions and you have no right to try to change my mind. Your opinions don't = fact.

    There is a simple solution for SWAT. Have them spawn on a different part of the base like in between shotty hall and the main base. That way you'd have a couple path choices. And either way everyone is acting like you have to go twards the middle to get spawn killed every time. But I do agree people would camp the middle with those shield doors. If you can remember early combat on snowbound. It was lots and lots of camping.

    I have changed the spawn around and took the shield off. Can someone DL it and give it a go.

    Each team spawning in their respective rocks would discourage the quick first strikes. Check out Sactum by overkill vr.
