I definitely wasn't expecting Bungie's next game at all - they stated in their Weekly Updates that they wouldn't reveal anything about it for a while - but for me, Aerospace is huge. I'm a Web and Digital Media Design major at my college and our focus is in mobile games and apps development. A program like Bungie Aerospace could help get our applications published, fund the department, etc. Maybe even some internship/job opportunities later down the road. I know a lot of people could care less about mobile/social gaming, but for someone like me, this is pretty big.
This made me smile in my computer desk. But they're really just expanding a different branch, not decreasing competitive gamers numbers.
I wholeheartedly expected Aerospace to be the Reach Engine... But I like what they're doing. Definitely got excited when I saw that they're partnering with FASA for it. Hopefully we'll get to see another MechWarrior game.
Im personally interested to see how "Crimson" turns out. Im not a massive RPG/Dungeon Crawler fan, but from what Ive heard, it seems pretty interesting. I think I heard something about it on IGN.com. They (IGN) were interviewing someone from Harebrained Schemes, saying that they had some kind of connection to Bungie. I thought this was odd as Id never heard of them before, but I read up on the game and it seemed cool. IGN may or may not have prematurely let the cat out of the bag. Still, Aerospace is a cool idea. I kinda knew it wasnt going to be their new game. I think I stated in another thread that it would likely be an OS or program sharing venture or something similar, so I was on the right track, I guess.
yea, im sure that is true for alot of other students out there too, its a very smart move on their part considering the huge interest in this field now
When I read that update on the b.net, I immediately thought to AdhesiveGames and how those two need to partner. If you haven't seen or heard of the game 'Hawken' by said company, do it. It's a small team of like 9 people who made that. I can't wait for it and I think that if bungie could weasel into it and help them out, it would be a huge, epic game for the xbox.
I hope they don't just do this for mobile platforms. I think it would be cool if Bungie helped develop games for XBLA. That way I can actually play them.
I believe its for mobile platforms, XBLA and PSN games. I think I read it somewhere on IGN or on Bungies website, but I cant remember. I do remember something about it being for more than just Android and iOS, though.
Kinda underwhelmed really. Ill be looking forward to what the mobile platform actually puts out, but I really wanted to see a new IP come out.
