This time it' personal yo' If you can remember way back to the days of Halo 3 where we were limited to far less objects, far less tools and a much more hard to use workspace then you probably won't remember a mini game I made called Purple Bunker. Well being the unoriginal lazy person I am I've decided to keep the name... for my new version on Reach! If you're unfamiliar with the mechanics of the game, allow my monotone voice to seduce you and lock you in for a download in this video I've so properly prepared explaining everything you need to know, however if you're not one for video's I'll prepare a text tutorial after it. YouTube - Purple Bunker: By Mr Pokephile (Custom Halo Reach Map)‏ Purple Bunker is a game of wits, the objective is to knock back the opposing team using your needler & concussion rifle (the mindless purple freaks AKA Purple Monsters) from your beautiful Purple Bunker (Ironic that needlers are pink and I chose purple? No, stupidity) The monsters are slow and stupid, well at least my friends are.. To help the monsters after a specific amount of time ( 1 minute, then 2, Then 3) blocks spawn to give the monsters not only cover but also powerups (Drop Shield & Armor Lock). There is 4 minuets in a round so your last minute will be a huge slaughter fest so get your sweaty little thumbs ready to move like they haven't in a long time. Okay one more thing before you go waste hours and hours of sunlight playing my map, you're going to want to know that if you have a party of 8+ you're going to need to tweak the game type so it supports it because Bungie decided to make things difficult so For party's of 8+ set the initial zombie count to 50% of total amount of players in the party TIMED EVENTS (Z fighting is gone, I'm lazy and didn't take updated photos) First Minuet Second Minuet Third Minuet Download Purple Bunker Download Purple Monsters
I loved this game back in H3, me and my friends used to play this all the time. I'm glad to see it back in reach. If they fix armor lock, by shortening the time frame, I think it would work really well in this game.
Looks like a fun game man, even better than the one from Halo 3. The addition of concussion rifles looks like a good idea. I'll give it a dl and check it out.
Yep I definitely remember playing this. It was fun in halo 3 so I'm sure itll be fun now. Nice job on this
Defiantly what I needed in my hardrive. A minigame that can bring back the style of Halo 3. Why does no one do this anymore? FH needs a contest for H3 Mini Game remaking. It looks like a blast. I always like these type of duck hunt flavors, this is my favorite. May I suggest that the purple monsters should have something to blind the opposing team with? In Halo 3 the flame grenade would have been the weapon of choice but possibly a Plasma Grenade? I realize it can be used as a weapon but I'm sure you will figure something out.
Good remake of the classic Halo 3 map, however I feel you should have left out the Concussion Rifles and kept it to just Needlers. I'm sure it will still play well, perhaps even better, but it kind of takes away some of the nostalgia. Nonetheless, you've got my download!
I dont remember this from Halo 3, but if this map is like the original, i sure dont want to. Im sorry, but this was not fun to play on regardless the amount of people. Everybody in my parties hated this, even being the ones shooting the fat-kid-esque zombies. I do not see how this could've been fun in halo 3, let alone how it is amusing in Reach.
lewks ****ing awesome, but i have a question, how is the replayability on the map? Like is it still fun after one game, because it might become frustrating as a zombie, as in the video it looked extreemly hard to win as a zombie.
I played this last night in a Customs Lobby. I became Alpha twice and it got so frustrating, repetitive and annoying for the Alphas that the host ended the game earlier. It's a great concept IMO but it just wasn't fun.
It all depends on you. It's not the type of mini-game everyone is going to like. Requires patience, without it you'll just end up quitting.
