Hi, My name (for the sake of privacy) is Dotya. I have long been a competitive Halo player through MLG and other tournament structures as well as recently competing in League of Legends tournaments. I am here because one day at a LAN party I saw my friend making the structure of a map in Forge World. I asked him if I could join the effort just for fun and eventually we created a really fun map that we love to play on. I've been browsing the internet for a place to share this creation and ForgeHub looks to be promising. My questions to you veterans: How do I find players for testing the map *with us*? If players like it, How do I submit my map to Bungie, MLG, or other interested parties? [br][/br]Edited by merge: Also, Do you have a gamertag that I can add that hosts a random assortment of ForgeHub maps?
each time I see your name I think of 'Dota' I've no idea why. YouTube - Basshunter - DotA (HQ)‏
Hey Dotya, my name is Cade! Most people call me Reflex Ion, or Yoyo (an old alias of mine.) You can call me any of those, as long as it makes sense that its me you are referring to haha. I find it hard to see why you want to submit your map to bungie, seeing as they are popping out of the Halo franchise for good! If you wish to see it in matchmaking, you should get in contact with a Community Cartographer. They were appointed to help decide what should go in. If you want MLG to recognize it, head on over to the MLG forums and look for their Forge section. Should be easy enough to locate. And if you just want everybody in general to enjoy your map, you should take the time to visit our map forums as well, and post there. We can also help you with testing, if you stop by and submit your map to the testers guild and mention my name (hopefully) they will take specific notice of it and get around to it as fast as they can. You could also do what I do, and just spam the shoutbox until enough people get on to help you! Beyond that, welcome to forging. I used to be semi-competitive (I was a beast at Halo:CE, and pretty good at Halo: 2) before I got into forge, and I almost enjoy building the maps more than playing it. Because when you make a bad map, you can fix it up. But when you have a bad game... its always going to have been a bad game I hope to see you around!
For the record, I'm willing to bet all of our names are as is for the sake of privacy. Regardless, practically everything you need to know about the site is in Reflextion's post. If you have any questions feel free to shoot (lul @ forum dedicated to a FPS pun) me a PM. Welcome to ForgeHub.
This and guys, I know this isn't usually my style telling you to be good, but didn't grumpy ol' noobles tell us no more memes/inside jokes on the intro threads, so Ima be a good person and say the following: Hello Dotya, welcome to the wonderful world of ForgeHub. Read the rules and I'm sure you'll get on fine, and steer clear of the PPC unless you really want to be trolled hard. Thx ♥ Sky
