My Xbox 360 (the newer slim model) has died it seems. The power brick has a red light and no matter my poking and prodding the system wont turn on. any suggestions before I go buy a new power brick?
No, there was no outage. It was even off at the time. I was playing Team Fortress 2 on my laptop., then looked over and saw the red light. only after TF2 did I inspect the meaning of the light.
Really? Thats ridiculous, and also proves that Microsoft don't know what they're doing, and its just blind luck that it works again.
its really cool how they can get hacked multiple times and put your accounts and information within them in danger. Man, you are right. I wish I had a PS3.
no. maybe not, but I havent seen any hackers getting though on xbox. I dont hate Sony or the PS3. I just like the xbox better. starting to like them both less now though with all there focus on Move and Kinect. Especially microsoft. They need to chill out about that.
They're just trying to appeal to a broader market. Don't like it? Don't play it. As far as Sony goes, they know what they're doing in terms of hardware. I'd seriously have to consider buying the next Xbox if it doesn't have blu-ray. That is the ideal disc format and soon enough will render DVD's a thing of the past. Also ditch the disc tray, Microsoft. It puts a damper on the discs.
Owning and playing both consoles, the ps3 is easily the better. The quality of the first 360s realllly makes me wonder how they got away with taking the market. Flimsy things... Id just get a 360 slim, the console they should have released initially. Still, dont dismiss the PS3 because of fanboyism, its an amazing piece of hardware. The best i own.
Why do people so quickly forget the piss-poor quality of pre-slim PS2's? While they may not have crapped out to the extent of the 360, at least MS offered to pay for the mistake; Sony just made money and inflated their sales off of their faulty hardware. As for the next console, I expect MS to find a decent medium. Their first foray was a tank, while their next attempt was too fragile, so I'm betting the third will strike a more favorable balance.
As of now my only hope is that they dont call it the Xbox 720... I dont mean to dismiss the PS3 as bad, I just find nearly everything about the 360 better. I dont care about blu-ray (although the medium of blu-ray is the future, I just dont really care as of now) I dont like the PS3 controller, and there are only a handful of games on PS3 I have ever wanted. Sly Cooper (which I have the first 3 on my PS2), Infamous looked cool, and LittleBigPlanet. I just have no appeal and with the hack its easy to target. I respect the machine, I just dont like it.
Just for the record, Blu-Ray isn't just about looking better, although it does. Basically, you can have significantly more memory on a Blu-Ray disc which means game developers can put more content on it. The left-over memory is great for sprucing up the graphics though. Usually game developers have to compress it many times (and sometimes even remove content) to get it onto the Xbox 360.
Uncharted 2 is the most beautiful game i've ever seen on a console. No other game has come close. Halo Reach is the best looking game on the 360, but its nowhere close to what the PS3 can do and has done. Xbox could do some crazy stuff if they really utilized installing games to consoles, which is a must for all PS3 games and part of what made Uncharted 2 so insane graphics-wise.
Halo has never been the best looking game on this console, and I'm surprised you would even say that.
Sounds like a typical Xbox. At least you don't have to buy a new Xbox, but my guess your only option is to purchase a new one. Edit: Read a little further into the posts, holy ****, did that actually work? Let me go kick the Xbox 360 that broke down two years ago that I have in my basement! I swear if that fixes it...
