Iliad 4-8 players

    So after my first failure of a map (Lambda) I went around and looked at the maps that made it into matchmaking and my current project draws influence from a few of the ones in the coliseum. This time around I present to you Iliad. A symmetrical 2v2 to 4v4 map that is in the current testing stage.

    Red Base
    Each base sports two assault rifles, two DMR's (both of which on default setting), two frag grenades and two plasma grenades

    Blue base
    Same as red

    Shotgun house. It spawns every two minutes with 1 spare clip

    Concussion Rifle house. It also spawns every two minutes with 1 spare clip

    Middle House. Middle hosts two needle rifles on default setting, two needlers on default, and the rocket launcher on a three minute respawn with no spare clips.

    Each bases houses a lift in one of the corners that takes them to the center

    Each base also sports a sniper rifle with tower on default setting (spawn characteristics pending change)

    Please constructively criticize. I'm looking to get a 4v4 going on this map for teram slayer and capture the flag so if anyone is interested please post saying so. I can host a testing session tonight around 4-6 pm est and then every night but wednesday at whatever time.

    Oh the only two game types I have set up are ts and ctf so if anyone wants to stay after the test and help set the other ones up (koth, assault, territories, stockpile) it'd be much appreciated

    I'm going to be as constructive about this as possible, but I must admit, the map looks rather uninspired. There is almost a total lack of aesthetics, you should try building each of those structures without using any of the easy pieces. Yes its true that simple is good but this map is so simple it appears to be lacking any real edge to it. Try building the map without using any buildings in such an obvious or typical fashion. If you want your map to stand out your best bet is not to use them at all unless you can find a unique or innovative way to use them. Both red and blue base (at least from a top down view) appear rough and painful to look at. Try not to overlap pieces as it can make for an unpleasant appearance, it also makes it look like you didn't try very hard to come up with something better.

    None of this is meant to be an insult, so please don't take it that way, but this map needs an overhaul to be viable.

    I would recommend avoiding the buildings list, coliseum walls and coliseum windows, and avoid using struts in a manner where the back of it is visible-they are ugly and irregular-mistakes I have made myself.

    Well if you want you could help me make some interesting aesthetics. The "lack of creativeness" in my maps is due to the 1 actual lack of creativity 2 about 75% of all now forged an well liked maps have used every idea and everything in every corner so it gets a bit difficult to find a place that's unique but balanced and 3 when you're trying to make a unique base the more complicated it is the harder it is to complete. God damn forge is hard
