I think timmy gets it. most people who have commented on this dont have half the talent you do. You did just have a FHF and people expect alot from you and if they were looking at the work you did they would be impressed. BUT these people are looking for thier own things within your map that just isnt there. when you began this project i had an image of what you were going for and you not only achieved that you surpassed it. Anyone who has a bad word to say probably doesnt know much about your map. DOWNLOAD IT PLAY IT then tell me what this map is missing....(nothing)

Tom has definitely caught the point here. A lot of the poor comments seem to indicate a lack of play time on the map. The map really brings the game down to the basics and provides an experience based on skill rather than who holds a certain position or who has the rockets. The smarter, more skilled player excels here and who can ask for more?

Wow, thanks guys. Sorry I haven't been on to answer, due to a power outage, but I really appeciate the kind words and am glad that you guys can really see why I built a map like this. It's nice to hear that my first map, that I really changed my forging style on, has really made an impact. Thanks again guys.

I've only ran around this map in Forge and played one custom 1v1 against an AFK player (man that was a hard match), but I have to say; you've outdone yourself on this one Eightball. The form, feel and flow are absolutely fantastic. The object usage results in an extremely coherent map with aesthetics that are interesting enough to engage and immerse the player, whilst not being complex enough to cause any major framerate problems. Vertical variation is very nicely implemented with enough LOS blockers to create tense and varied games.

I've seen many of your other maps and like others, though I very much appreciated what you'd done with them aesthetically, I couldn't see them working in terms of gameplay. Note: I don't think I've actually played on any of your other maps, so my judgment is by no means final, but I'm extremely impresssed with this particular map and I look forward to playing many more games on it.

To me, this is the kind of map that should be in the Double Team playlist. I hope you've submitted it elsewhere.

One final note: This relates to performance. In split screen there is a little framerate lag when Blue is on the grass near their initial spawn looking towards Grenade Launcher and Red is facing towards top middle from the little platform in front of their spawn. It's subtle, but it's definitely noticable. Hopefully this can be addressed.

I have posted this map on another website, which I won't mention because I'm partial to Forgehub ;) Anyways, thanks for the comments, I'm glad you like the map. If you get a chance to play against a non-AFK player, it would be great if you could give me some feedback on gameplay. Thanks again.

Thanks man I appreciate the comment. I tried to give the map more diversity and add more aesthetic appeal by adding in those beams going from the buildings into the rocks. There was a certain aesthetic theme I was going for as I was told to pick a few objects and stick with those throughout the map. While the 5x1 blocks weren't part of those few objects, I decided to go the extra mile and add them in and it looks like they paid off. Thanks again, I'm glad you like the gameplay as I tried to make it fair for both teams and that worked out well, as well.

Great map, definitely deserves to be a FHF. I found a tiny problem though, which I'm not sure you're aware of. There is a random area on one of the railings that has a soft kill where I think it shouldn't, and right behind that is an out of bounds grassy area that has no soft kill at all. Walk a little further and then you go straight into the hard kill. I'm assuming you didn't intend that to be a secret spot. It's a small cove on the waterfall side of the grass beyond the window railings. I think it's underneath the red guys in the last action shot, but I could be wrong. Let me know if you can't find it. I didn't want to take away from your victory but I figured you'd wanna know. Still, sick map dude.

Edit: If you still can't find the spot, let me know and I can take a screenshot or something.

Is this two FHF in a row now? Great job! This map is very deserving of the honor.

For those who aren't convinced take a look at this :) Watch the sightlines, the ingenious flow and download! (Also notice why I HATE grenades, my friends are sticky whores lol)

Well thanks man. As for the kill zone, I'll definitely have to look into that. I'm not sure where it is, but I'll take a look around. Thanks for the heads up.

No problem, anytime. This map is really deserving of the honor. Thank you for the mention and hopefully I'll be ending my map posting silence here soon.

People need to stop complaining about aesthetics! Sure, its possible to make a map look more aesthetically pleasing. But have you seen the pieces we have to work with? Every map is going to look grey and kind of bland, but that is no fault of the forger! Blame Bungie! EightBall has done a great job making this map look good! The aesthetic appeal is in the structure itself, not the pieces used.

My only question is this, You say its a 2v2 map. But to me, it looks like it could support more players. Have you tried a 3v3 or 4v4? I have not actually seen the map yet in person but I watched Atlas' video but I'm still not sure exactly of the size of the map.

I have tried 3v3 and it was hectic, not really what I designed the map for either. It was too fast paced and I really couldn't go anywhere without running into someone. That's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just not my style of gameplay. Thanks for the comments.

Thanks man, I'm glad you like it. From all of the feedback I've gotten, everyone says that the map plays well. There's also a video on the front page that will give you an idea of what gameplay is like. Thanks again.

lol its definitely a bit late, but congratz on FHF bro!

While my experiences on this map have been less than optimal, I will say that it is an architectural masterpiece. Your layout is interesting, and your weapon choice is spot on.

My only issue is the games i've played on this have taken place almost entirely in the area shown in your third screen in the "pictures" section of your OP. It wasn't too dissimilar to the lift room on SwordBase, in which everywhere else on the map just felt like a safe place to spawn. I've read so many replies praising the flow, but all my games have turned into campfests. Granted, the first few minutes of a game with new players is interesting, once they discover the power of that area they just sit there.

Well, thanks, but I'm not quite sure I know what spot you mean. Are you talking about the bridge? If so, there are multiple ways to counter campers up there. Some areas are open and there is more than one way up to the bridge. Honestly, I highly doubt that camping is effective on any location on this map. There are just way to many ways to counter campers.

In ALL of the games I've had not a single person was able to camp effectively, let alone camp at all.

I do believe that to be the place. A skilled duo can easily hold that location. The height advantage allows them to pick you off/nade spam/double team from a distance, and steal any PW off your dead body, then hike right back up there before you spawn. Rinse and repeat. I really wish I had remembered to save the films so I could show you.

Well, it really isn't as easy as you say. You don't spawn away form the bridge every time, so it'd be hard for anyone to get back up safely. I played again and I tried to camp, but was unsuccessful due to the open nature of the bridge. Any player could easily pick the people on the bridge off. Play more games on it to see if anyone SUCCESSFULLY camps there and save the video. I'd really like to see it so I can make changes if necessary.

Anyone else care to jump in?

Wow, the gameplay is awesome, and the framerate in just right. I like how you didn't use colliseum walls. I also like the aesthetics, it didn't distract me from the game.

Here I am, to deliver a well over due comment for my good 'ol buddy EightBall. THIS MAP SUCKS... sorry, my keyboard turrets must be acting up, please disregard that last part. What other thing can I say the last 59 people haven't: this map is great, a good direction for you, etc. The works. Honestly, this is truly like a rebirth for you. I've seen what you're currently working on, and it's nice to see your still going this way.
