I've noticed that the majority of forged maps are typically small to mid-sized maps, because it seems the only way to play with more than 8 players is to go into a match-made playlist. I've always found it difficult to round up enough people to play something huge, (I rarely get a square 8 people in the party to play CTF on a forged map). This makes it hard to justify building a large Forge World map fit for big-team-battle games, which I would love to build, but it puts a damper on my spirits when I know that I'll never get a chance to play it. I recommend a group be started that regularly plans mid-sized to big custom game parties. If I had my way, games that had 8 - 16 players. (If there's already a group like this, please tell me). I don't think I could be the owner of this group, I'm a pretty busy guy, but I'd love to be a follower of it if anyone would be willing to lead, and that way, I could finally justify building some large-scale awesome. EDIT: Also, be sure to give a shout if you would be interested in joining such a group, not just if you would be interested in leading it.
I'm definitely down for this. Getting a group of sixteen together from only one friends list is a damn near impossible task.
I am totally down for this!!!!!!!!!!! Most of the maps I have forged are for big team battle and I have a pretty loyal following. I can bring my people in let me know so we can friend up. In the meantime check out some of my BTB maps below... Hail Mary, Sietch and Skydive Convoy(nominee best of forge pre-dlc) MANRAYX SKYDIVE CONVOY LV-426SIETCH HAIL MARYSHADOW-ASSAULT
I will be watching this thread with interest as I love big team games. A suggestion: You would need to make sure that all maps and game types are playtested to a degree. I would avoid letting people go 'hey, I have a cool map, promote me to leader'. I've been in such groups and it only takes one bad map to have everyone heading back to matchmaking.
Ask to do a TGIF playlist. With reach the mods probably will need more groups to handle all the people
TGIF typically gets lots of players. Or you can try the new customs lobby which I hear is coming out soon or use the Tester's Guild and just ask to be present in the test.
IM IN! I love btb and all my friends hate it ....so PLEASE make this happen, ill co organize if u need me...maybe make a group?
I would LOVE to join a group like this! I've never actually experienced a custom-games match so far and I don't expect anyone to make any custom games any time soon in Reach, but hopefully if a group like this is arranged, I could join to save myself the boredom of Forge, Matchmaking and Campaign. Custom games have always been enjoyable for me.
Count me in. Now i finally got a reason to build big maps. Please send me an invite Can bring 1 - 2 people. MaartenCr
Hi ! Sorry to "necropost" like this, but i'm pretty sure you could find what you need, i mean about 12 "Big teams" (10 and 12 players each) , which play every friday evening (GMT +1) BTB custom games on "competitive" modes and maps. Actually, we were surprised to notice that they were very attracted by original forged maps, and they ask for it ! If you want to propose them some maps, try to contact on the web all at once at ilovebtb.com or team by team : - Burning Heads (BH3) Team's forums ; - Ech3lon 's forums (<name>E<n#> on XBox Live) ; - Katrina FR 's forums (needs inscription on the site to go on the forums) (tag KFR on XBox Live) ; - MainDansTaFace Gaming 's forum (needs inscription on the site to go on the forums) (tag MDTF on XBox Live) ; - Xtr3m Gaming's forums (tag Xtr3m on XBox Live) ; - Reakless forums (tag Reakless on XBox Live) . I may forgot some of them, but here you've got some contacts with open-minded BTB teams ! I hope this could help the good forgers you are to make really great BTB maps, Tepec
This would be fun! I could lead/start it if no one else is yet. We could pick the maps prior to the games. One of us (or multiple) could fly through it in forge mode. Maybe a few of us could test some gametypes to play too.
I would love to be part of a BTB customs group. I usually enjoy BTB, but as you stated in the first post, it's often difficult to get a customs group together for it.
Its really not that hard to organize. As long as you hold it at the same day and time every week people will know where they can find some BTB customs. The hardest part is getting enough people and obviously people would like it and want something like that.
