Hi everybody. I just signed up up for Forgehub, and I was hoping someone could answer some important questions I had. First off, is there any way whatsoever that i can load a forged map onto the internet for other people to download without having access to Xbox live? The reason I ask is because i live in an area where our internet is too slow to support Xbox live, and so i'm forced to do everything on my computer. I have some great maps I'd like to share with everybody. The other question i had was where i could actually post maps i make for you all to review. i don't know what forum topic it would go under. This of course depends on my first question. Thanks for any help you guys can lend, and i can't wait to get feedback.
Welcome. First off any maps you post should be in the Custom Content Section. You will find the right sub folder by following that link. Posting maps is very difficult if you do not have XBL. You cannot use your fileshare without it. What you can do is sign up for XBL using the email linked to your gamertag. This will allow you to opt for a month trial period as a Gold Member, this will grant you access to your fileshare and allow you to post your maps. Your internet connection does not have to be very good for uploading maps.
You can use Bungie's File Share with an XBL Silver account. Sign up for XBL, but choose the free membership. You can't play games online, but you can use features such as messaging and Bungie's File Sharing. Upload your maps into your file share in Halo Reach, then go to Bungie.net and sign in. You can go to your profile and get links to your maps and gametypes for other people to download. Regarding posting your maps, go to the "Halo Reach Custom Content" forums, then post under the appropriate forum (Competitive, Casual, Gametypes, etc.). Hope this helps. I know you can save your maps to a thumb drive. Can you also transfer them to a web site? I wonder... But of course, my question is more academic if silver accounts have file share also.
Only gold memberships can use the fileshare to upload maps, and you don't need a good internet connection to have XBL either. Here is where you should post your maps and gametypes. The Testers Guild and Review Hub can test and review your maps.
