Media: Teaser Trailer Theatrical Trailer Weapon Details: Energy Sword x1 Needler x2 Plasma Pistol x1 Concussion Rifle x1 Focus Rifle x2 Plasma Launcher x1 Fuel Rod Gun x1 Spartan Laser x1 Plasma Grenade x2 Plasma Turrets x2 (Infection only) DOWNLOAD MAP Author's Notes: The Grid was inspired by Tron, Tron: Legacy and Tron: Evolution, and pays homage to each of them with different parts of the map referencing a different part of the Tron universe. This ranges from the dark Bostrum Colony from Evolution, to the new styled Grid, Sea of Simulation and Rectified spaces of Legacy, to the old Games Grid of Tron (complete with the iconic cracked wall - offered as Phase 2 in Tron: Invasion) and the Energy Cavern that was also featured in the 1982 film. Work began on the map in mid-January and ceased on the 4th June. Between that time spawn points and weapon placements have been designed, overhauled and play-tested. Loadout cameras have been meticulously placed. Gametypes have been completely refined. And map geometry has been tiresomely and precisely formed so that all neon lines are aligned and z-fighting has become extinct. As you guys will know, no easy task to perform when co-ordinate editing is less accurate than required. The Grid as it stands supports all varieties of core gametypes; Slayer, Oddball, KotH, CTF, Assault, Headhunter, Stockpile, Territories, Juggernaut, Infection and even Halo Chess! Although I prefer the custom game variants provided in order to get the best out of the map. It's a small map, so it's better suited to smaller teams (2-6), but will accommodate larger parties should it be required and will play nicely with large parties in FFA games. As for it's style, The Grid was designed to be a fun map and therefore probably best suits the Living Dead or Action Sack playlists. This is my debut map. Never finished anything before. I hope you enjoy it and have fun!
Well i look at this and its one of them that i would actually enjoy playing in MM, nice post as well with all the videos and stuff, yeah looks like a nice map, and the room with the stunt ramps looks like it might be hard to see lol
VERY CREATIVE! I got to download this one and check it out myself. It might not have the best gameplay, but just the fact you put so much work into making it unique is worth the download.
Thank you, I appreciate that! Due to the design, I don't think this is an entirely balanced or MLG map, because there are different power weapons on either side of the map, while the map itself is asymetrical, however I feel that it's up to the teams to utilize what they have. And that despite this, gameplay is fairly good with the Custom Gametypes provided.
Love the colors and concept! I'm a huge fan of lighting effects, and this looks so nice. I downloaded, and will play later today.
Excellent work brother. You did a fantastic job with the movie elements of neon color and lighting. I have seen some "lazer tag" maps that were built with mostly the stunt ramps but you added some additional stuff that really gives your map a bump. Additionally I like seeing maps that can be played with multiple game types. Its frustrating when you get a good map but you can only play it with one specific custom game type.
