Looks like I forgot to add "attachment" after "blue flame." To clarify, in case you are completely unaware, this is not an actual helmet, but rather blue flames that surround your helmet. It was previously only available to employees of Bungie. "Beginning on June 23rd, and running through the close of Bungie Day on July 7th, we'll be celebrating the last twenty years the only way we know how - by giving you, the best -blam!- community on the planet, all the parting gifts we can muster." Bungie.net : 7 Reasons to Celebrate : 6/13/2011 5:56 PM PDT Quick text: "Because Blue Flames aren’t just for Bungie Employees or fans with iPhones. We’ll be turning on Blue Flames and the Bungie Nameplate for every last one of our loyal fans. (Kids, do try this at home.)"
For some reason I was the most excited for the iPhone app. Oh and those blue flames are going to get annoying REALLY quick.
This is cool and all, but it's a bad thing. They've given away everything that was exclusive now, which leaves pretty much nothing. I would have loved it if they had released a road to reconish challenge for them, but just giving them away... Let's just say the entire Bungie community are going to be Blue headed pretty soon. All of them. After a week, no one will wear it, and everyone who does wear it will be called a nub, Hayabusa style.
I agree completely. I will probably use it for a week or so just for shits n giggles before tossing it aside.
So the blue flames will be permanently available to all players all the time. YESH! But I wont wear it though, just cause thats too mainstream PS: NO NEW FW!!!11!!one FUUUUUUUUUUU-
Either it will go the same way as the Bungie chest and flaming head in H3 and only stay for a limited time, or I'm just going to keep my red fire. (Haven't read the article yet)
I could give a **** about blue flames BUT we finally get to figure out what the hell bungie aerospace is. Hell yeah. iPhone app is cool too.
Wow. Everyone thought it was their new game, but it obviously isn't, considering Urk said it would be a long time before we heard about it. Wonder what it could be.
Bungie trademarked the name months ago, thus sparking rumors that it was their new multi-platform IP.
****. Blue flames means more framerate laggggggg. I am not happy about this. However, Luke better show up so I can get a steak dinner.
I just wanna know what Aerospace is. Also blue flames like BAWSS! loljks everyone and their dog will have it.
Man I love when people think I'm a bungie employee. "what do you do?" "ima network engineer." "That's cool, wanna 1v1 for blue flame?" I did that twice and kept winning and pissing them off lol.
Aerospace is probably going to be some kind of OS or dev tool. I highly doubt its going to be their next game, as all the evidence points to the contrary. Regarding the blue flames, is that all? I was expecting some kind of armor pack. To be honest, that would have been much better. I know I shouldnt complain because they've given us so much already, but still, it would have been nice. Im not going to bother with the blue flames though, and they're likely going to be worth a lot of credits, so those nubs out there better get saving. ; )
What Pino Said. The Blue Flames will only be available UNTIL Bungie Day, then they'll be taken away from us. Personnally, I will only be wearing the Blue Flames for a day or two before I switch back to RedFlames /Heart Attack. As to the nameplate, Why bother, the Bungie Pro DMR is probably one of the more exclusive nameplates (Alongside the star and the Marathon squiggles) and I don't see the need for the Bungie Nameplate, it will just become one of those things you get ridicule for after about a week, but then it will keep all the little kiddies that we sadly have to deal with happy, and make them think they're all 1337 MLG ProZ just 'cause they have the Bungie Nameplate. Then again, this is still a really cool idea, you don't see many other game developers giving their loyal fans access to all the exclusive stuff like Bungie do, it's a nice way of saying thank you IMO.
Found on Bungie forums: (source) Anywho, I personally like the flames and believe that originality doesn't really matter with useless cosmetics that were designed for nothing more than random fun (...yet I find it pretty scary that people get incredibly serious with armor and play Halo like Barbies) to make the game more enjoyable. The care for the fire will die down and the population of Blue Flame wearers will be reduced to the people that legitimately find it good looking. Just like Recon on Halo 3; most people wore it for about 2 weeks after they earned it, and it became as common as any other armor variant afterwards.
