    Okay so, i have had a thought about painting on the walls in my room. I have always pondered on this, but often thought that, my room is too clean, i'll just wait until i finish university and have my own home. But we have been massively redecorating, and i figured it's a good opportunity if i can come up with something worthwhile.

    For those who need some more details, my room isn't very large. Maybe 4m x 5m. All of the walls are white-washed, excluding one, which is wallpapered with some shitty last-minute Next home-ware crap. I plan to either paint something over this wallpaper, or to paint it white, and use the wall next to it, which isn't as long and looks more fitting for a painting.

    I'll only go ahead with it if everything works, including painting over/stripping this wallpaper, and planning out what i'm going to do, down to the tee. I'm already having a good gander around the internet, sourcing what i find in the hopes i'll find some inspiration. I already have a few ideas and directions, but for the moment i want to remain open.

    So i have about a 4-5m wall with which to paint on, what should i paint?

    Something video game related. But like really artsy and clever video game related like 8 bit era games morphing into 64 bit into modern age.

    At the moment i am more inclined to do this;

    Don't get me wrong, i have had a whole range of different ideas flowing through, but some may be a bit too complex or daunting, considering the scale of the task. I would prefer something a little more open to interpretation. The paintings of a deranged hallucinating drunkard just happen to accommodate those needs.

    If you are a true halo nerd... "master chief riding a warthog riding a scarab bursting through a building that is exploding on top of a mountain under a covenant ship that is also exploding, while he lifts off his helmet to show the face of chuck norris. All on his way to get a six pack of beer." or something along those lines.

    Tbh you should do (or at least i would) a painting of cortana holding onto master chief while he shoots his gun in a fiery hell on the top of a mountain of dead covenant. Also his helmet would be on the ground.

    If you're going for a more dememnted look maybi suggest a rendering of some areas detailed in the divine comedy?

    if you have creative friends let them do a collab piece whilst youre all baked or something, it'll mean more and have some memories to it i guess.
    if i was gonna be doing a mural on my own walls, i have thought about it, it would probably be sometihng illustrative/cartoony/psychedelic like with weird characters running around or sumat with some cool type maybe something motivational? idk

    Ha i don't have creative friends. My brother is probably the closest person, but i wouldn't think he'd have the time.

    I'm thinking about taking starry night my own way though. Warmer colours, and a bit more detail might make it better for it's size.

    Do you have any idea what paint and what colours to get to do it?

    i'm not entirely sure about paint, depends what your walls are like and i spose the colours of the mural depend on the colour of your walls as well! if your committed and motivated something like that could be really cool! you don't want a half finished mural on your wall!

    If I were to mural my walls (I too have a small room) I would go for an urban theme. But that's just me. I've always wanted to do three of the five walls in my room (yes five. it's a pentagon, stupid f***ing architect.) a continuous urban scene but switch the color pallet for each wall red/black to dark blue/silver to light blue/ white. I've always thought that would be interesting. My opinion.

    But if you want to do a famous art piece may I suggest one of Monet's Etretat pieces (google it, it's a lovely city in the northwest of France) it's similar to your Starry Night, but not quite as famous/cliché IMO.

    Or just go all Jackson Pollock on that *****.lol.
