Has anyone here played very much with using explosives for effects/aesthetics? Specifically I'm wondering if there's any way to make an explosive go off other than the normal one (spawn in the air and fall on to the ground). I was surprised to note in forge the other day that kill balls don't seem to trigger explosives. What else does? I assume merging it into some object would do the trick. Dropping it on a suspended landmine I have used before. I haven't tried kill zones but I guess that probably doesn't do anything, and I can't use it in the context I'm thinking of anyway.
A fusion coil that spawns floating in the air, then you have one that spawns about 20 ft above it. When they collide it makes them explode. Set the spawn times so they spawn with minimum chance of a player seeing them in the air. edit: the floating coil is set to fixed/phased so it doesn't fall.
I think hard kill barriers may also make stuff 'splode in mid-air, although I have no evidence. Feel free to try it out though.
