Yep, we've only seen a teaser trailer of Halo 4, and it's already clear that 343 Industries is screwing up the Halo story. Remember at the end of Halo 3, on Legendary, when the chunk of the ship that Master Chief is in lands on a planet? Well, in the Halo 4 trailer, the ship chunk is still just floating in space. What ever happened to it landing on the planet? Did 343 Industries not know about the Legendary ending? If so, then, the Halo name is in damn good hands!

And he magically had a jetpack and some pistol grenade launcher thing. Still looking forward to it though...

    oy...

    TEASER trailer...teaser.

First of all, in the legendary ending cinematic (which by no means was perfectly clear of anything), the ship is seen floating toward the planet like object, whether it is a planet or a ship is speculation and should not be assumed. IT IS NEVER SEEN LANDING ON IT...so I don't know where you got that from.

Second of all, as part of a TEASER trailer you cannot assume anything about the actual gameplay or story of Halo 4. That was a CGI animation based off of concept sketches made specifically for E3. I've mentioned this is the Halo 4 discussion thread but the only thing you can assume is that Master Chief is alive, he will have Cortana with him, he is about to leave the half of the ship, and (this is an assumption but a likely one) it will feature some sort of customizable weapon set as they drew heavy attention to MC attaching components onto a pistol.

Before you go over analyzing something only meant to build hype for the game coming out tentatively over a year from now, remember it for what it was.

As far as the "jetpack", all MJOLNIR mark VI (I forget the exact suit name) suits have Zero G thrusters on them. (Read a book people) At no point in the previous halo games does MC do zero G battles so that is why you don't see them. As far as the weapon, he's on a UNSC ship, it's not too farfetched that some ONI spook had a weapons lock up on board and when the ship was blowing up a weapon fell out and was floating about.

But yeah, I have to agree with Pac, it is just a teaser trailer.

Alright, I'm not the only one here who's read the books or paid attention while playing the games, so someone's probably already said this (I didn't read the rest of the thread):

Firstly, it's a teaser. It's a CGI cinematic. If you take so much away from it, then it's your fault.

Second, IN HALO 3, THE SHIP DID NOT LAND ON THE PLANET. AT ALL. It was still far away from the planet. The legendary ending showed the planet coming into view, nothing else.

As for the "Jetpacks", if you read the books, you'd know all Mjolnir suits had Zero gravity thrusters.
