Thornside Created by Rest in Pieces For the 2x2 Bank Contest Description: I noticed this contest and immediately began forging. I barely ever use these pieces so I figured I would give this a shot. The forge location and the budget drew out major improvisation on my part. This map is my first floating 1v1 map forged inbetween the pinnacle rock and the entire rock wall. From what I have seen so far, this submission is separated from the rest because this map uses no natural geometry, except for the walls in some areas. A positive part of this map is that it is big enough to support 1v1 DMR / NR's with decent cover and adequate movement options. There are numerous sets of Teleporters and lifts for extra movement and escaping. A negative part is that this map requires a lot of awareness (which can be a positive too; just depends on how to look at it). The two main things are: No guard rails (due to budget), and going through the teleporters without proper direction can lead to falling on the spot. It'll take practice if you hate falling off, but it is an enjoyable map. Otherwise, just enjoy and leave feedback!
Nice to see a third map for the 2x2 bank contest released to the community, may the best forger win! (I think I have a good chance.) This map seems like a really good concept, and could be amazing if it wasnt for the piece restrictions. After the contest I would add guard rails and other pieces for gameplay's sake.
I might just rebuild it actually. I had fun playing this, but I could probably build something bigger in this area. It's actually a cool spot lol
I love the map. Such a hard contest to forge for. Using only one piece to forge with definitely is a challenge. Just a side note but I hate banks while forging. They are just so hard to position correctly, but it looks like you were able to use them quite successfully.
