    I feel the need to post that image, because that's how you will feel about this map. You will either love it or hate it. The map and gametype are based around quake, and is very different then typical halo reach gameplay. For this reason, you will either adore it, or want your dmr back.



    So having said that, I'd like to introduce you to quake, if you are unfamiliar. Quake is a PC game that, in my opinion, is one of the most demanding games in terms of skill. You move faster, jump higher and need more accuracy then most shooters. Please note example 1a

    I wanted to base a map and gametype around similar mechanics, gameplay, and map design. So, without further adieu, I give you Kirus.


    Settings:

    200% Speed
    150% Jump
    200% Gravity
    110% Damage

    Focus Rifle starts
    10 minutes to play
    Unlimited Scoring

    Custom powerup: 200% damage resistence. Similar to Yellow Armor in Quake (see video)
    Red Overshield : Does what OS always does. Similar to Red Armor (see video)

    Kirus was designed with 1v1 in mind, but it supports 3 or 4 man FFAs really well. If you want a faster paced game, I suggest an FFA. The 1v1s however require more skill and are a different game all together.

    For the parts of the map that I didn't get a good picture of, please sit back and enjoy this short video. It includes teleporter routes, a walkthrough of sorts, and idea of speed settings, and some nice jumps.

    If you still don't get a good picture of the map, let me know and I'll add some more pictures tomorrow. Don't be afraid to just give it a try also. I realize that this won't be everyone's cup of tea. For those that only want halo-esque gameplay, this will not appeal to you. I hope that even if you don't care for the gametype, you can appreciate the map design.


    THE MONGOOOOOOOSE CHALLENGE:

    So there are 3 mongeese on this map. All of them are viewable, but not accessible from inside the map, in a custom game. That means no forge bubble. First one to find them gets a video made for them. Editing and all.

    To "find" them, you must send in a rendered (or captured) bungie game of you, in custom, spotting them all.

    Unfortunately I can't make you not go into forge to look first, but that'll be on you as an honor rule.

    Anyone who has done the mongoose challenge with me, in game, is excluded from winning the prize.

    /have fun with the epic easter egg.

    Wow, this looks amazing! Very nice map design, especially the jumps and teleporter routes.

    I absolutely love Quake, and it makes me so happy when I see people building maps for Reach that have a Quake influence. Queued for download without question, and I hope this gets more attention, I think maps and gametypes like this have a ton of potential in Reach.

    Yay! First post is a Quake player. Glad you like it. I absolutely love the map, but the gametype turns some people off, which makes the map seem not as good. I hope you enjoy it.     Does the gametype include increased speed, and bottomless clip weaponfire?

    Speed yes, bottomless, no. Quake doesn't have bottomless clips.

    There is ammo just like anything else. I'll update with a weapons list.

    Play a game with the other dude up there ^^

    Wow, this looks hundreds of times better than when I last saw it. I really, really regret getting ROSE.

    Did you ever fix the whole "jump and it takes three minutes to hit the ground issue?" I feel like I may have told you about that, but its pretty insane compared to the original game. Also, lol @ aftershock.

    EDIT: YOU FIXED THE FAIL BRIDGE EXACTLY HOW I TRIED TO TELL YOU TO >.<

    It's a bit better with the 200 gravity and 150 jump. So it's less floating, but still feels like quake. Also, ace was like, I'ma redo the bridge. I was all "k". So thank him. :)


    It's not so much reloading, as it is a limit on ammo. Bottomless clip give you inf ammo doesn't it

    Yeah, but I thought it would feel more quake-esk with the "no reload" factor than with the "lmited ammo" factor.

    It would make the concussion rifle too powerful. It is probably the best weapon on the map. If you got inf ammo, you would just wreck. You wouldn't ever switch to your focus rifle either. I wish I could make bottomless clip no inf ammo. That would feel perfect.

    I tested this a ton, like, the first day after you finished it. At that point, there was an outside area that was fenced in and you could walk around n stuff... I liked that place! Why you take it out!? lol

    Anyways, this has changed a whole lot. It looks 80x times better now, and I'm sure it plays better. We need to get another game on this soon, sir.

    Sick circle jumping at the start of the vid haha. Very interesting map design looks like a ton of fun to play. Do you plan on making any more Aftershock maps?

    Also fuel rod = BFG

    You already know that I love Kirus, Aftershock and you
    All the games I played on Kirus were fast, fun and hectiic (pun intended), but they never got to a point where the speed got confusing. The forging is very clean, there are super awesome jumps in it and the outside is just awesome, I only realised how great the location of the map is when I looked at it in forge, using the quarry as a garden like aesthetic part while building the map at the cliff instantly made me jealous, because I didn't came up with that idea ..

    While I have never played Quake, (Puts on Flamesuit) I did enjoy looking at this map and running around on it in forge. Except for when I saw this map, it looked...erm...worse. But now its just amazing so smooth now, and I love the fact that you widened that walkway looking over the quarry. So yeah the 2nd to last picture really caught my eye with its improved awesomeness, also very much looking forward to hunting some damn mongeese.

    Concussion > Fuel Rod IMO.

    Every aspect of this map was awesome. The aesthetics, the location of the map, the little easter eggs ;) I seriously had a hard time finding them, but with a little help from the boss himself, I managed to find it. Gamplay was smooth, interesting, and definetly creative. I've never played quake, but this map really makes me want to go to gamestop and pick me up a copy. Great work, bRHOsive. See what I did thar? ;)

    Good luck to everyone trying to find the mongeese. First video posted in this thread wins. Glad all of you like it. Please let me know what you think of the gameplay, as it is very different.

    For a moment I was all like: "Y HAVE NOT SEN THIS?! >=(" But then I realized just how much work you've done on it since we played it last.

    So, my question is: "Y HAV NOT PLAYD RECANTECELY.!?"

    Seriously though, I remember having a pretty close battle on here, we need to have more. <3
