Hello! It's Zop again, and I have a remake of Fallout 3's The Pitt downtown for you today. A bit of background information, for those of you unfamiliar. Pittsburgh wasn't directly nuked, but rather fell into decay. The radioactivity in the rivers and soil in the area caused mutations to the people that tried to live there. Eventually, the community dissolved into lawlessness of gangs and violence. Shortly after, the Capital Wasteland Brotherhood of Steel passed through the city, and razed all who stood in their way. After that, it was claimed by Raiders and became a slave state. It was a generally bad place to be! Anyways, enough with the talking, here are the pics! Bungie.net Thread (They gave me more replies than YOU losers, nah JK I love you all). The Pitt downtown. An intricate walkway system is held above the ground by supports such as these. This barrier prevents slaves from escaping and Trogs from entering. The entrance to the Steel Mill, with a blockade preventing escape into the wreckage behind it. A closer view of the Steel Mill entrance and blockade. Steel is removed from pipes and vehicles here. Steel which has been removed and is use-able is piled on the north side of the work area. The narrow alleyway between the steel workyard and Ashur's podium. These supports are holding up a walkway high above. A sign of superiority. A large, derelict apartment building, where Midea's home is located. Entrance to Midea's home (Inside 1st level of Apartment) Massive blockade in the square outside of the apartment, to prevent any entrance or exit from the area. Slaves may also be hung from this to make an example: Don't try to get away! Ashur's Podium Entrance/Exit from podium area. And that is it. Thank you for your time.
Wow, talk about memory lane. This was one of my favorite dlcs for fallout 3 and I think you've done a great job recreating it here in forge. At first I was worried when I saw that this was in aesthetic maps but I'm glad you made it infection capable. Excellent work on the details for the types of pieces available.
I... I... Awesome map. I LOVED The Pitt in F3, and this remake is surprisingly accurate and impressive in general. Especially the walkway supports, those seem like they would be hard to replicate, but you did a good job. I'm impressed.
My son thinks the map is pretty well done - he played F3 and immediately remembered the map from that game. We downloaded it and will try it out later today. I am surprised you only have slayer and infection variants. I will also try out your custom game type with it.
Glad to see I caught a reply while I was online. Not many gametypes, purely because it has been in the works for several months and I wanted to get some opinions on it (It's in the Aesthetic section, I have an excuse for few gametpyes). Once this thread dies, I'm going to make it compatible with as many gametypes as possible, modify a few things, and re-post it to the casual section.
Quick question: Have you tried mixing the "Orange" filter with something else? Because I'f you could get a decent balance so the map felt more like the actual Pitt. Because in the actual Pitt, everything has an orange tint too it.
Nice remake, im really astonished. Too bad of the grey forge items (d*mn U bungie for giving us grey, grey and only grey!!)
I did, and it was really not very good. The orange was good, sure. The problem was it made all the FW gray pieces too dark to distinguish any detail without focusing on it for several seconds. They all just blend together. And no combo with another FX helped it at all, since the only one that makes it brighter is "NOVA", and that shouldn't be used in anything but screenshots.
Before this thread dies, I have a video walkthrough of it. YouTube - Halo Reach Forge Map: Fallout 3: The Pitt‏
