Element

    Element is the very first competitive map that I have spent a lot of time on. I managed to start of this map by trying to create something similar to Warlock from Halo 2, as well as include some feel of Foundation. I included the tree right away, and knew what this map was going to turn out to be. Over a month in the making, I give you Element.

    What is Element?

    Element is a symmetrical map, that is mainly built around a square design. It is all developed around a center courtyard, featuring the large tree. There are 4 bases, or spawn rooms if you will, in each corner of the map. There are pathways connecting all four, whether that be hallways or a short back pathway. There are lifts in each corner that lead to the upper level, which then has raised bridges connecting the two main sides. There are also lifts leading to the top floor from the middle courtyard. Teleporters are also featured in the side hallways to provide an extra escape as well as an extra flank.
    Rocket spawns at the base of the tree, and the sniper rifle spawns on a raised glass platform on one of the upper level side bridges.
    The map is mainly designed for team doubles gameplay, however it does support 1v1.


    Weapon Spawns:

    • DMR x 6 (respawn time 15 seconds)
    • Needle Rife x 2 (respawn time 30 seconds)
    • Plasma Pistol x 1 (respawn time 80 seconds)
    • Rocket Launcher x 1 (respawn time 150 seconds, 0 spare)
    • Sniper Rifle x 1 (respawn time 180 seconds, 0 spare)

    I have put a lot of time and effort into the map, and I have had multiple play tests done on the map to ensure that the gameplay is as enjoyable as possible. I ask of you to please download and comment, and let me know what you think.

    DUDE, nice,
    but this map needs much much much more pictures, and there are definitly enough good looking areas that it shouldnt be a problem :)
    Gameplay and flow on this map is very nice, and im glad that i was able to see it develop over the weeks
    Looking forward to more of your maps, and more pictures too:)

    Wow! I think you may be right up there with Eightball with your map designs. From the pictures, I think it looks sweet! I have downloaded it and will let you know how it plays, not that you need my input, since you obviously have help from the best of Forgehub has to offer. Once again, really nice job!

    Thank you a lot, kind sir, and please, any input is good to have. It has been tested, but not by everybody, so I am always excited to hear how things go. As for your EightBall comment, I blush. :)) Just kidding. He does have amazing skills, however, when it comes to using the forge. Thank you for the compliment.

    Haha thank you very much. I was aiming to please with the health pack, especially since you reminded me. I also managed to change everything like you said, except for the corners that you mentioned by teleporter. There doesn't seem to be very much I can do about that. Thanks for the download and testing.

    I jizzed myself a little bit when i saw the first picture. ten alot when i saw the rest of them. love the staircase in the courtyard and love the power weapon placement. +1 dl. now if you excuse me im going to go get a towel

    Hahaha this comment just made my day. Thank you man, both in a serious and funny way. :) It's great to see so many positives from other people since this is basically my first posted map. I will actually mention, the stairs were the last thing I added when I made the original version map because the center looked too smooth and bland. I think they turned out well, just like you said.

    I really enjoyed testing this. You also took the advice that HF had to offer. The health packs were the biggest issue imo. I thought it was nice that you effectively balanced the top-to-bottom control. There were plenty of ways to get to the top level so it wasn't overbearing. Thanks for posting in the TG as well!

    Thank you very much for the feedback, and I am happy to see that you enjoyed playing on the map. Yeah, HF did have some pretty neccessary feedback. I did manage to add the health packs, as you see, as well as edit kill barriers and weapon spawn times. He also mentioned that you guys were able to stay behind the small indents in the wall near teleporter, but I wasn't able to do anything about it. It really doesn't seem like a very big issue. As of what I can tell, the map has finally been pulled together to be the best it can be. As for the TG, this map would not be what it is without you guys. :)
