I just finished a competitive map that I really like the layout of, with one minor quibble. There's a high platform with bridges that leads fairly directly from one base's objective area to the other. It's long, but with the bridges there it's clearly the easiest way to travel between the two points. If the bridges are removed, you can jump down from this platform to each base, but not back up (unless you have a jetpack).

The layout with the bridges is not a problem in most gametypes, but in CTF it's so obviously the best return path that I suspect people won't try to go any other route. Therefore I want to remove them. I wouldn't mind removing them just in CTF, but it might also be nice to remove them from assault and stockpile.

Is there a way to get them to despawn for these gametypes? I know I can set them up as gametype specific, but I don't have enough bridge pieces to create them for every gametype I want them to be in. I wondered about setting them as gametype specific = true with no label, but that appears to despawn them from slayer, which is where I really want them to be. If there's no better way, I may just make them specific to slayer and remove them from everything else, but I'm not crazy about that idea.

Sadly, there isn't. Giving objects the "none" label will not make them appear for that gametype, but the "none" label is only available in invasion, Race, and Rally (maybe another as well, but not CTF). I don't understand why this is, but I guess we just have to deal with it.

I think setting them in the slayer game type only is the best option if you don't have enough resources left.
Another way could be to block off the bridge somehow by making objects spawn in CTF and assault.

Blarr. That's what I thought, thanks. I think what I'm going to do is make them slayer-specific and then see if I can scrounge up enough bridge pieces to make them also appear in another gametype - probably oddball or king of the hill where they would be useful to have.

I considered that, but I don't think it will look good at all - plus I need to have the jump from that platform to the base still available, so it would be tricky to pull off blocking it one way but not the other.

EDIT - I managed to round up enough bridge pieces to make these bridges appear in slayer, oddball, and KOTH. I'm pretty proud of that since it took removing and replacing a total of 8 bridges to pull it off.
