So I'm working on this floating clockwork map, and I've only just started on the ring in the middle. I need someone who's good with aligning things in forge to check and make sure the ring is centered correctly. Its made out of curved walls, which made alignments difficult as I've never used curved walls before, and I've got no idea what the coordinates for the center of the ring are. Please adjust the alignment if you think it needs adjusting, but don't mess with that apart from that. When you're done, just post it on your fileshare and send me a link, and I'll let you know when I've downloaded it so you can take it off. Here's the link: Bungie.net : Halo Reach : File Details Thanks in advance.
*cough*Edit co-ordinates*cough* But seriously you can use that to center anything if the rest of your map is made with it (which I usually do) The only time you shouldn't use edit co-ordinates is when you're making cool aesthetics and slopes.
Or if you don't want to do that you can use the Halo 3 trick; use a circle object shape. Use that plate in the centre, set its shape to circle and expand the radius until it cross the curved walls. If it cross all the walls at the same then its central, if it reaches some walls sooner than others then its off centre. But using coordinates is far easier and more accurate.
Thanks for the tip. I did that and it worked. (to be fair, I never knew about that trick in Halo 3 either). We're all done here. Thread locky people, do your thread locky thing.
