Gladiator: The Arena

    Gladiator is a symmetrical arena designed for fast paced highly competitive slayer. Nothing super fancy here. However I didn't overlook the aesthetic factor either. Its all about the game on this one! [​IMG]

    I think you've done a nice job keeping the game in mind here. Nothing crazy, nothing too elaborate but something more focused on game play. My favorite part of the map is the center; I like how you've used the covered barriers. Usually I don't like the prefab parts just being thrown into the open but you've made it in a way that utilizes them effectively.

    Could you possibly post a weapons list? thanks

    Thanks alot I really appreciate that! I actually put a lot of work into it trying to keep it simple and playable yet elegant. The center piece is one of my favorite peices as well. I generally hate the prefab buildings but this fit the style I was going for here so well and doesn't look to much like I slapped a a few peices there! I'm glad you liked it!

    4x dmr's
    4x needle rifles
    2x shotguns
    2x snipers
    1x rocket launcher
    2x AR's

    I really like this map it is simple but elegant like you said. The only thing I have a problem with from the pictures is the coliseum wall that is used as the ceiling. If you have any budget left I would suggest to spice it up with aesthetics. That is just a thought. Overall wonderful map keep up the good work.

    Thanks again for the positive comments! I do agree with you about the colosseum walls. I didnt want to use them as the floor either but the remaining budget does not allow for change unfortunately :/

    Yeah. I really dont like this map at all. And if i meant that then i would be completely stupid. This map is simple like Amplified from Halo: 3, yet can have some serious combat throw down in it. I really like and would definetely make more of these style, or BETTER. You are a great forger and suggest you keep doing it. Only thing tht i would suggest just like the guy above me is and more decorations to the map. Using collesium walls can be extremely useful while forging, but it can also show our map to be a little too simple or blanck. Its still and awesome map. Great Job.

    Wow. Thank you! And I do have something similar in the works that I had just about given up on but maybe I'll finish it now haha! Its a little more elaborate while still maintaining a certain simplicity.

    Like I said, I unfortunately can't do much to it due to the remaining budget and not enough pieces left. I actually tried to changed before I posted it but couldn't :/

    Having played on this a couple times now I can say that it's a very solid and unpretentious competitive map. I think you described it as your stab at an MLG map, and that seems about right. There's just the right mix of cover and openness, no position is especially powerful (though the more enclosed buildings at either end do offer some advantages), and it lends itself to lots of team shooting and DMR fights. Just a very enjoyable slayer map - good job!

    Thanks! It was one of my proudest forge creations for a while. I was extremely happy with how it came out.

    Until Vee Reihen Six that is... haha
