The Map? is Double Trouble (v4) by so PRANX.
    It's a 2-Player, challenge-your-socks-off, aesthetic puzzle map.
Make sure to get the gametype too, it's quite important.
(For reference, you start with a sword ONLY, no grenades - sorry for any confusion with the pictures.)

    Features?
2-Player Gameplay (2 players required, more than 2 players will cause certain areas of the map to break, i.e. the beginning spawns. Also, if host switches, some things will need to be unlocked again possibly).
Dual-Method Checkpoint System (certain areas of the map, when opened, will become permament respawn points. other areas of the map, when opened, will allow new routes to be explored). Be aware that most of the parts of the map interconnect, so don't be afraid to use your brain.
No Glitches to Discover (this map doesn't use turrets, mongeese, or any other challenge of "finding the glitch way out").
Aesthetic Gameplay (for the most part, things were forged to be functional and aesthetic, so I'll hope you enjoy your adventure).
Very Difficult Logic Sequences (difficult to figure out, but a blast to complete once you've done so - you'll enjoy the teamwork you'll be forced to employ with your partner).
You must go BLUE. - call me bad at forging if you wish, but you both gotta go blue team - lol :)

    The Passage/Story?
The Beginning - in the beginning of the map, you'll be separated. For explanation purposes, there is a red player, and a green player. The player whom starts in the room with the trip mine must wait for the green player to help him. After that, it's his turn. The goal? Make it to -

The Checkpoint - when the two teammates, have made it together, hopefully they'll have found everything they need to open up the checkpoint. Don't worry, it's a little hidden, so don't fret if you don't "hear" it open right away - as long as you're firing in the "right" direction. (It should be noted that it is possible to join-up before completion of all of the beginning challenges - that's fine, but you won't be able to make it further until one player has completed each section, and ::hint:: you'll need two players to get someone in there)

The Outside - after opening the checkpoint, players will eventually meander their way toward the outside part of the map. Decorated with natural elements, such as water and rock, they'll be challenged to make their way into the yellow room.

If you're a little stuck on the order with which you might need to visit each area, there's a "key" near the checkpoint. You might need to bend over to see it.

Good awareness and better teamwork will help you conquer this area, and make your way to the interior areas of the map.

The Tower - a fusion coil will permit you access to the yellow room, containing a peculiar puzzle. Is this where our heroes split?

The Diamond - only a form of "purple" armor can help you now. Used correctly, it will provide access to the middle of the map. (you know, that area you kept looking at when you were stuck in the beginning?). A master with the ability will soon open the Red Checkpoint, and allow his teammate access to the final room.

The Green Room - yeah, you're gonna need to find a way to get that ball outta there. And it's called the green room for a reason - have your teammate help you when you're finally ready.

Blastoff - That golf ball has a very specific purpose, and discovery of this purpose might give you a little "boost".

The Flag - yeah, you've found it. Now what?

    The Pictures?
    The "Red" Spawn"

    Finally together!

It's a scary world out there!

    Ahh, life's simple challenges.

    Almost time to split up?

The infamous green light. If you can "cover it up" a little bit, you're on the right track.

    Good luck!

    Special Notes!
I would love to thank Miss Giggity, Syniister, UEG Aistrope, scrubfingers and everyone else who did testing, gave emotional support, and especially to Syniister for finding the "few" breaks which required total TLC to get this map out.

This map is extremely difficult. I will not be releasing a walkthrough until at least a few weeks after it's release today. If you'd like pointers, feel free to message "so PRANX" on xbl for help.

This map took 11 days of forging to complete, including the 3 days of testing. I'd imagine that close to 80 hours were exhausted in the making of this map.

Comments/Criticism are welcome and appreciated. Go wild. This is my first partner-puzzle map, and my attempt was to make it as difficult as possible whilst still keeping a beauty to the map.

Ok, this looks like a lot of fun, I'm not one for the puzzle maps usually but just from your description and the aesthetics it looks like it is something more than what I usually see. You have my download :)

Hey thanks - I appreciate it. Alot of time and testing went into this map from many people to handcraft the experience that is "Double Trouble".

My tips for the map for players who don't do many puzzles:

    1) Try to play with a partner of relative skill.
    2) Logic will normally be the answer to your problems, not some off-the-wall glitch.
    3) Don't be afraid to switch off, some sections are more difficult than others.
    4) Take your time, and don't try to beat it as quick as you can. This will only lead to some serious frustration.
    5) As a general rule, areas with golf/soccer balls are the most difficult challenges to complete.

The description above (The Passage) was carefully worded, so you may find help there.

Are you sure you have everything you need? Both the red and green sections need to be completed, only then, can you continue.

I can't even make it past the first room :(

I spawn in the trip mine room, my buddy gets the pistol and shoots the grenade to make the AA kinda drop, and then he shoots the plasma but it seems to have little effect. What then...

NVM, we got it now ;)

Hey everyone, glad you're enjoying the map.

Ghostlink - I'm glad you were able to figure it out. It's a little tricky, but kinda easy once you get the hang of it. I find the Red Side to be much more difficult than the Green.

Gnasher - did you finish the Together Room? I hope it wasn't too difficult - I know it's not impossible. :) Thanks for the good words though.

Syniister - hey buddy! yeah, we sure do. Soon as I get back from Cali, we should get down and dirty on the sequel to the Synianx. (I forget how we spelled it).

Has anybody beaten the map yet? Our best time was close to a half hour.

For the together room, make sure you have everything you need. If you do, you should be able to figure it out by being observant. (Hint: I'd blame the red player, the one who does the trip mine challenges.)

And yes, if the red player kills themself with the trip mine, they go to the green spawn. This was intentional. It's fairly easy to get someone back in the red spawn however, which you'll definitely need to do if you want to get past the together room.

and if you need an extra hint, message me on here, and I'll PM-you something.

yes, the map could be hard the first time, but it isn´t too hard to solve you just need to watch around and think in every possibility.

PRANX: good job on the map some challenges were original and fun, the aestethics were also awesome, hoping to see another map from you.

Very well done! Like I said, most of the map simply involves logic and awareness. I'm glad you enjoyed the puzzles - without giving too much away, which was your favorite? Mine personally is the final golf ball.

And yup, I'm cooking up something special for a sequel to this. I actually learned a few tricks during the making of the map, but it was a little tough to implement design changes at that point.

I believe you're the first to finish the map besides myself and my testers btw.

Hey me and my mate are up to the green light we put the golf ball on it but dont know how to get back over the other side, and when i was over the other side, there was a plasma battery sitting in mid air i blew it up and it wasnt a spawn or anything?

    Well, a couple things.

    1) I don't know how you got two people up in the room with the green light. I'm pretty sure I forged that to be impossible.

    2) You can get in the middle room by using red teleport from checkpoint, however, you'll need to find a weapon somewhere.

3_ if you mean the plasma battery above the middle room, that's not a spawn.
You should see what that does pretty quickly.

If you need anything else, u know where to go :D

you can get in the green room this way, Below where the fusion coil and green light are there is a little bit of a wall or somthing that i jumped on to aand i could evade up and it was steep enough to shoot me up to the sheild door haha, and im talking about when you evade up the last evade jump you turn left and there is a plasma battery? what does it do?

Just finished it in 21 mins :) link here : http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/FileDetails.aspx?fid=17851009&player=I%20Jye%20I

big jack, there will be a tutorial in about a week or two. i want people to see if they can do it first without being tempted to cheat. But don't worry, I won't leave you guys hanging forever.

... and yeah, the red side (i think you mean the red side, with the trip mines) is quite tough. Once you get up and then back down again with the ball (you should know what i mean), think of ways to get over that wall.

jye, that opens up red. hey a completion link! alright, ill check it out - thanks.
