PORTAL in Reach!! Rendered Video Proof! + NEW CHAMBER B! ORIGINAL POST on Bungie.net, Please Comment there as well if you want! Bungie.net : Halo: Reach Forum : PORTAL in Reach!! Rendered Video Proof! Today I have something wonderful for you gentelmen, indeed it may be the greatest thing that has ever happened to Reach, Halo, or video games in general. I have merged the incredible, created the impossible. Portal: Reach [bungievid]17435928[/bungievid] Youtube NEW! Chamber B Featuring the Weighted Companion Skull! And we get some revenge on a turret. [bungievid]17453003[/bungievid] Youtube Screenshots: The Portal Gun Chamber A Camera 235-A Weighted Companion Skull Full File Set Includes all Vids, Screenshots, + One Map This was a little project I had, involved lots of intense timing (I had my stopwatch out haha), and not-so-complex forging. I've got my flame suit on but I hope you all enjoy it. Comments please! I want to see what you guys thought of it, it didn't take too long at all to make and I have ideas for more "Chambers" and other Portal features as well. ***ATTENTION FORGEHUB***: Could you guys do me a huge favor and comment on the Bunige Forum post as well? Everybody that sees it there loves it but it gets pushed down by complainers and people complaining about complainers. I had forgotten I posted it here and I came back to find replies from you guys, I love this community haha. THANKS! -Edit: Due to request, I put the full Film on my File Share, along with the map itself. The Film is the same thing with a couple seconds of the loadout screen and the end of the game. The gametype was just a variant of Slayer with minor tweaks. -Edit2: Ahhhh... after being at Bungie.net since 2007... I have finally made a hot topic that's actually worth something... a proud moment indeed. Thanks to all the amazing support guys! -And now it's at 100 replies and plenty of views and whatnot. Awesome. Don't know if you guys care but I think you'd like this video, just a funny occurrence in Matchmaking. Good times. -Edit 2456421 Mr Sark just posted my video. Life complete. Thanks so much guys.
Good job, it looks as boring as the actual Portal game. okay that was a bit harsh. I just hate that game. it really was well done though.
Awesome job. Especially with the turret. Can I upload it to my YouTube channel? Unless you've put it on YouTube already, of course.
I went ahead and embedded the video for you. I have to admit, it's quite clever the way you pulled it off.
Dude... whether you rigged it or not that's pretty damn impressive. Nice job. Just makes me wonder if it could actually be done using like Haloball or something.
This. I've always wondered if using territories and spawn sequences on teleporters, you could make something akin to Portal.
At first I thought you discovered something awesome, too bad it's just delayed spawn times. Regardless, you played it off well.
This is pretty well done. This is how internet rumors get started lol I love the "cake" with the arrow too
What the hell? It's one of the most creative thought provoking games out there... EDIT: I literally was about to get online and do something similar. I'm really glad I didn't
Really nicely done. Cool momentum testing, and the cake was funny too... You know, I've been considering using 2 teleporters on a map that can access different levels depending on the momentum you have entering them, akin to a portal placed in well, Portal, but in a competitive map. Hm, same idea, different usage. You pulled it off rather nicely might I add!
i would think that the only way to successfully create this would be through the use of modding (not promoting modding here) or if bungie added another setting to the insane gametype. it would be awesome if we could forge portal maps but it's looking to be a very low chance of that happening.
I really hope you're going to release a puzzle map to go with this find because this might just be the greatest thing ever! Edit: This has just been featured by Bungie.
ok, i came in here, thinking it was going ot be something iffy, but its really impressive the way you did it. the timing and everything had to be hard. how many takes did that take?
