This is a preview that a good friend of mine, Urban Myth, made several months ago. What I find amazing, is that I still play on it often, and it still easily compares to some of the best maps in Reach. So here it is! Video by Urban: YouTube - Halo Reach Forged Map: Roundabout And some screenshots: Happy belated birthday present, Urban!
I've played on this a few times, I didn't realize it wasn't posted. Finish this stuff Urban, it is a sexy map already!
Submit that map to MLG. Their latest request specifies room-based maps and this is easily better than most of the stuff I've seen sent in. edit: due date is tomorrow at midnight btw.
Drop spawn the power weapons, delete the automatic guns, and add an evade/jetpack on a 1s respawn timer somewhere on the map. 5 minutes of work tops. Trust me, it'll at least make it to the final cut of testing. I'm in one of my pessimist modes right now and I'm predicting not a single new map makes the circuit from this next submission, but playlist is a possibility. Really I just want to see some better quality and more unique maps in the top 6 or 8 or whatever it is that Tak decides this time.
By "moment," he means for the past 6 months. Anyways, the original post has been updated with a gameplay video.
What I like about the map is that you used the Pillar which usually isnt used and you executed the flow with it extremely well. I also like how you used the rocks and used them so nicely it gives the map more of a natural feel. Someone that just doesnt appeal to me is the picture with the bridges in it. To me, I think you could do better and re work that section into wider of a walking area of another room. Also, I noticed a room with what it looks like a lot of objects in it. Maybe take out the man connon as well, not a huge fan. Try re working that too to make more map or make the lift look more part of the map. That can cause framerate but I havent played the map so you tell me. Other than that great job and I hope to see the final version!
Oh yeah, forgot about that. I remember running around this map months and months ago and asking him to submit it then, and I still think it's good now.
