Some photos: Currently about eight feet of excess water, and it's still rising. o_O

Heh, some of the towns around here are just as bad. But add in massive mudslides.

Wind has been pretty bad lately to0. Saw a vid from just south of me where 9 trees were blow over at ones from one strong gust.

Dang, that's a lot of water. Pardon the dumbness of this, but I don't live in the US anymore: where is this happening?

It's muggy here, I guess I lucked out and got the least amount of wetness out of this as possible.

Blurry iPhone picture. As previously mentioned, it's up at least 3 feet from the time those first three photos were taken...
If you look at the top photo, the grassy area is what you're seeing here.

oh, yeah, and it's raining right now. I'll go back in the morning and check it out.

According to our paper it has finally crested, at about twelve feet.

That golf course has a gigantic water trap. Must be for experienced players only.

Holy crap dude! I used to live in Michigan up to 2 years ago, and my dad just went there this week and he's said nothing. Says in that poster it's Midland? I lived in Novi, I don't know if it is close to Novi, or Detroit. That's some heavy rain, man.

I assume this was just a river flooding in a certain area? Not the whole town. Thats still insane. Though I remember you taking some photos of that cool bridge before :)

Come to think of it, I think Carlin covered this scenario in his Life is Worth Losing show

Adelyss, Midland is practically atop a circular hill of which the low lying lands (probably about 25% of the town) has had extensive flooding (such as the first photo I'm attaching). I was able to go out today, the weather was actually nice. I got a lot of sweet photos.

    Water-ball anyone?

But seriously, we had some flooding out here too. Not much being in the middle of a big flat province, but I know my math teacher's cabin was in danger of being flooded out. Apparently the water was supposed to be 2 metres high. Luckily, they forecast it wrong and it was really only 2 feet. Still though, scary feeling.

Me ... Too ... I couldn't get to the other side. I'd probably be swept down the river. =\
