Alright boys and girls, you know the deal... Preview time! Latest map is for the room-based submission over at MLG. Features an inverse sym design with a total of five rooms, including a central atrium room that connects it all. Map was designed to highly promote the use of the jetpack while not placing a disadvantage on players who do not have one. Notes: Plays Slayer, KotH and Oddball best. MAJOR NOTE: Plays well with non-MLG settings too. Map has slowly been polished over the past weeks through constant testing and tweaks. Forgers that have contributed to this map are as follows... SaLoT, Bleuprint, itzDawkins, Solo xiii, Sethiroth, Col Keller, TaK and Killa KC. Thanks a ton to all these guys and the countless players who helped test. This map is nearing its final version and should be released shortly. Despair
Hello. This is looking good . I like all the ways around and how you have made the floor all the decorations and structures look good and well forged. I don't like how you have tied in the hexagon on the outside and I think that could look better if the blocks meet (pic 3) but its minor and just how I personally like things forged. Looks good...looking forward to seeing this finished
Yeah... With the object density I already am running in that center room, as well as the lack of blocks left... I really can't do anything else with that center structure. The only real reason why this isn't finished yet is because I'm still tweaking the spawns and hill placements.
I highly doubt this is a 5000 budget-er? Anyways, looks good and all. I hope I get to play it a few times in the future.
Not a 5ker, but then again... The small a map I forge, the bigger the budget gets. But if I HAD to make it 5k, I could do so easily... I'm just good like that. Forgehub kids ain't got shiz on real forgers.
I know your main focus is gameplay by far, but I really like the way this map looks. I absolutely love the look of the floor, I kind of had been implementing a similar style floor in one of my maps. But yeah I'm sure the gameplay will be superb as with all of your maps, so I'm looking forward to when it comes out.
Dude, DSM, I totally thought you like quit forging and what not! Nice to see you 'round again man. Was just commenting in your map Placidity. Oh, and thanks for the kind comments.
Thanks man. This map is already released (technically) over at the MLG Forums. I'm still working on a default MM variant for it. The screen shots are currently outdated as I was forced to reforge the entire map in order for it to play in split screen. The new version is more gray, but is better color coded and features light and texture mapping to further help with player orientation. Also added in a "steal-able" jump-up at the Jet Packs.
It's kind of a shame that you had to move the map, as the original floor looked really nice. Oh well, the map looks great anyway and Im sure gameplay will be awesome. I look forward to playing this sometime. Maybe we could get a few games on this and MLG Cargo Port in a day or two?
Woah that's old. Went all the way to .o9 Beta before I released it... And then reforged it... lol. Took a whole month testing it and wanted to make sure it was superb before release, and I over looked split screen play. :/ Link is updated to new map. And if you really like that map, please lend your support for it over at MLG.
I remember testing this once or twice. Acutally I believe our game was capped too. I'll go find it if you want. Anyways, I really enjoyed it and usually like the stuff you build. Looks pretty solid. <3 Rho EDIT: Stevo's Horrible POV And this is the old version as well YouTube - Despair - Forge Hub Tester's Guild LIVE Lol at ignorant comment
Loved the video Rho. And major lol's at Stevo... He chases sooooo hard! I lol'd at the "I'm going MLG pro" crap too. Trolling perhaps? @4Shot: Thanks man. The current round of MLG map submissions is drawing to a close. If any of you can take the time to post in support of this map for playlist consideration in it's thread at MLG, it would be much appreciated.
