Hello again Forge Hub, people who might've followed my past maps will know that I take great pride in all of my maps that I make. This map is my absolute pride and joy. I give you... FARAWAY LANDING This map is completely of my own design but was inspired by another map that I sought to improve and this is what I ended up with. Faraway Landing is a driving range, true to form, you do exactly what you'd think you'd do; that is, smack golf balls from the box out into the field and how far it goes determines point values. These distances are: 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. But in the interests of making it more fun, I also added a 10 point goal which is a circle at the absolute far end of the driving range. The gametype used for this map is the Insane gametype but the exact gametype is a variation of Haloball. In this game, you are allowed a Golf Club and a Gravity Hammer. There are three rounds that are 3 minutes each and the score is unlimited, pulling a final score in the 500s was commonplace during testing. As in Haloball, skulls fly out of areas when points are scored. Unlike Haloball however, I didn't waste time letting people know they scored one point or even 5, I spent time making sure everyone knew that somebody had scored ten points. This game is set up for 2 teams of either 1 or up to 3, I don't know why I made it that way but I did. There are Kill Barriers in place to catch high shanks (balls that are struck and do not go where they were intended) as well as walls on either side to allow low shanks to remain live. There isn't a one-way barrier to stop you from going out into the field, but I make up for this by putting both a team-specific teleporter in place and a kill barrier which also forces dribblers (balls hit with little force that barely leave the box) to be returned. The teleporters are not featured in the pics I provide as they were a last second amendment that made the map play better since now the only way you can die is by splatter. Finally, there is a room with the Maker's Mark, that is, two Energy Swords suspended in two separate teleporters with a third in the middle that holds the SFX if any was used and there is one used in this map. This Maker's Mark was inspired by another Forge Hub users mark. Getting to this room is no small task and it does not in any way interfere with the gameplay. Now it's picture time. The box First ball shot Red's side of the box with Blue scoring 10 Blue's view of the range Red, all lined up The 10-pointers Room of the Maker's Mark That's pretty much it, hope y'all like it. And by the way, I am fully aware that a giant wall of text is not conducive to a great post but I do it anyways because I want people to be fully informed when they see this.
Looks promising, but shouldn't this be located in the Mini Game section? I doubt this can be used for Slayer or anything, right?
It probably should but I posted it here because I see it as Competitive since there are absolutely no need for any honor rules or anything like that. LDedit♥: Moved to Mini Game Section
