If you have not played Halo chess, you are missing out. Apart from the several bugs that can be fixed with some honesty rules, the game is brilliant, but I made it better. Have you got confused with the Black and White squares in game, as they are all the same colour, like figuring out which bishop you are about to move? I have. Veni vidi vici. I was tinkering in the Forge, and I figured out a way to change the appearance of the board, it is now much easier to grasp. I also added many visual tinkers and aesthetics. There is a thread on Bungie.net, and feel free to bump that up for me Look in the fileset for the gametype, mine has infinite game length, as it should be. I hope you like it. "Chess is the oldest kind of Slayer" Have fun, peace out.
How did you change the board's appearance? Is it a gametype/labeling thing, or did you just place those blocks down in forge? Even though, that since this gametype was released, everyone has released a version. The only thing that makes this one different is the different squares which is quite helpful.
No, actually you keep the label as is, and merge additional objects with precision, on top (inside) the board. And what about the bunkers?
I honestly didn't see the bunkers. I think they're kind of pointless. I mean, you're not going to spend much time in their at all. You're going to be looking at the board, but they are a nice little touch.
This helps me so much when playing! I will definitly use this map instead of he standard Chess map. Thanks.
not tried chess yet, but if there are bugs or sth stupid in the standard-gametype, and your's is good -> download and cool forged chessmap ;D
They should have originally made the chess board look like that... would have been so much nicer. Your map looks pretty good, and because I actually find chess kinda fun in reach Imma download this.
It's a good map, I guess the reason I'm not psyched about it is more because of my dislike of chess on Halo....
You spawn as a monitor, when its your turn you just fly over to the piece you want to move and stay still for a few seconds so you can gain control of that piece. To place the piece you just move in to one of the highlighted squares and, again, stay still for a few seconds.
