I don't post my maps on forge hub very often. Please bring it to my attention if I have "messed up". This is a redux of my most downloaded map acrophobia. It is a large map with wide sightlines, a strong focus on team and vehicular combat, and oportunities for infantry to outfox their vehicle toting brethren. DMR:4 AR:4 SR:2(two mags each) Shotgun:2 Needler:2 rocket launcher:2(two rockets each) Plasma launcher:1 Focus rifle:1 Plasma pistol:2 Grenade launcher:2 Blue base Red base The bases are semi-pyramidal in design. A large central room holds the sniper rifle, and most objective spawns. In each base's "basement" Lies the shotgun spawn. A falcon sits precariously at the back of each base. The central spire cuts the battlefield into two halves and holds the spawn for both the splazer(basement), the overshield.(top), and the plasma pistols(middle). This allows infantry a short respite from the frantic vehicle combat around. Corner holds a machine gun turret, a rocket hog, and a mongoos. Can be accessed via base teleporter. Lastly, lies the verandas, A.K.A the rocket spawns. These allow a respite from the frantic vehicle combat surrounding them. Please, If I am missing anything, tell me.
It's true the map is rather flat, but it is designed for multiple vehicle skirmishes at once, rather than a knock down drag out melee and infantry battle. The key to infantry is to stay out of the open zones. (This remake is actually designed with more vertical combat, due to the flatness it already had.)
Even if your focus is on vehicular skirmishes, it's always good to have varied height elevations in your terrain. Think of hemorrhage, highlands, high ground, last resort, etc. Not all are big team, but all have vehicles and changes in terrain height. This allows players to attempt avoiding fire by ducking back behind a small hill or down an incline. It also increases the excitement of these skirmishes because it makes it harder for say, a warthog gunner, to effectively gun if their driver can't handle the terrain properly. Now the better driver will have an advantage. Anyways, you should definitely consider doing this. I think you'll find not only does the map play a little better, but simply looks better as well.
In that case, I will definitely think of it if I ever make a v3. Thank you for the feedback. Try out the map, it might not work the same way that you posted above, but I think you'll find it is a very enjoyable map to play on.
If you've tagged it under the name it's got, I will. Unfortunately, it's my roommates xbox and gt, so I can't dl maps to his harddrive from here. I have to do it through the tag search in-game.
