MORTAL KOMBAT Hello, this is a quick preview of a map I am working on at the moment. I started work on it last night. I would like some input from the commuity on this map. Ideas would be great, as I hope you will want to see and play this map and gametype. The map is on my fileshare Mortal kombat Mortal Kombat slayer (gt) I have it set up for stockpile, although I need to add a gametype for it, Slayer, jug, territories. They all require a custom gametype to play as intended. the slayer version of mortal kombat so far has 200% damage resistance, 25% damage, no shield or recovery. sword or hammer with either run or invisibility as ability. 4 plasmas to simmulate projectiles. kill +1pt death -1pt no penelties. 5pts for assasination. There is a hard kill zone when you fall of the pit bridge. so far it is up to 25 and in a 4 player game that is fun, although to make it more like mortal kombat I will be changing the 2 player version so that you have 1 life, and the match will be 3 or 5 rounds. In the map I have so far made the dragon off the Mk logo, the pit bridge and a portal...so far, any suggestions of what else I could add would be a big help. I think I will be also adding a throne.
Wow, the MK symbol looks surprisingly accurate for being made of rocks. And this is a nice idea. Mortal Kombat might be my favorite fighting game of all time, next to Tekken. The platform does seem kind of easy to fall off of though. The aesthetics also look surprisingly good too. Now what's the point of the fighting at the bottom? When you die do you respawn down there and fight the other people that died to give them something to do?
thanks! Yeah thats the pit level. Do you remember it? you used to knock the opponent off onto spikes. It gives a view of the dragon in game otherwise you would only see it in loadout cammera. The portal takes you up there. It is also used as territory objective, who ever lasts on the bridge the longest wins. At the moment there are only 4 spawns all on the bottom. you have to enter the portal to get to the pit bridge. or you can battle on the logo at the bottom. In testing play was all over the map, if more play then it is more orientated around the bottom levels. It is still needing work to get everything right. Any suggestions would be a big help! Also I am a big fighting game fan, mainly from arcade, street fighter2 , mortal kombat and tekken, also soul blade lol.
Its looks amazing! If you could add some cover, like floating rocks or something, it could be a great DMR dueling map or 2v2
Thanks, yeah maybe some floating rocks could work. In kind of a portal theme. There will be more added to the stage, and platform. I have used all the rocks too. So a little unsure of what i could make cover out of. At the moment using sword or hammer it doesn't need cover and has been great fun. Thanks for your idea!
Well it depends on what you want this map to be. If the intention is a fully playable map capable of handling multiple gametypes than yes, it needs some cover. If you want this to be a specific themed map that caters to Mortal Kombat style play than cover is unnecessary. Mortal Kombat is arena style play and if you want this to be a themed map to it I would keep it open. What you can do for aesthetics is actually make spikes and put kill barriers on them.
Yeah I wanted to add the spikes but it would mess with the aesthetics of the dragon logo . But I did want to add. The reason the pit bridge is above the dragon is that u see it and it adds to gameplay experience aesthetically. It is intended for mortal kombat and to play as close as I can ...but also keeping it fun as possible... In testing everyone has enjoyed it. I have a lan in gametype. You have to battle for a while to win battle. If you like sword hammer and melay fighting I think this will be a blast. Although i can mix it up and add an objective to a certain gametype to give variety and add a shooting gametype. This might please some players viewers attracting more play and interest thanks for your comment
You can offset the logo from the spike pit a bit so both are viewable. It would take some doing to move a lot of geography but if you wanted spikes it could be done.
For sure , the pit is built on edge of the rock mountain cave part. I think bringing it in could be an easier solution. And definitly something I will try in a bit. Thanks. As i can't add too much aesthetically, the little touches will make the difference. Thanks for your interest
Amazing Timmy. This looks insanely fun and the symbol looks so neat for being forged out of rocks. Let me know if you need help testin this. I can't wait to see the finished product.
