Been a while, but I finally had the time to work on my AVP project I started a while ago. If you don't know what I'm talking about, refer to the original topic: http://www.forgehub.com/forum/halo-reach-forge-discussion/114969-avp-outpost-4-a.html AVP Compound I'm posting the pictures in a Reach to Original format to show comparison: (tele leading to underground tunnel) (ladder leading to underground tunnel) (underground tunnel) (inside one of the buildings) For those who think the link I posted is tl;dr, then I'll give a brief overview: - The point of this project is to introduce elements from a childhood favorite of mine: Aliens vs Predator 2, into Halo Reach. This comes complete with a custom gametype featuring Aliens, Predators, and Humans obviously. Each species has actual advantages over each other. - Preds spawn off with a custom powerup giving them their skills, but it also lowers their shields, and ups their health a bit to give the other races a fair chance. - Humans have no powerups, but they have a weapons advantage/teamwork advantage. - Aliens spawn with plasma pistols/energy swords. They get sprint/dodge powerups. - Each species has a different set of weapons to be as close as the species as possible. With humans and predators, there's a lot of weapons, but there's only 2 pairs of weapons they can consistently get to ensure the game is balanced. Players will have to take turns with weapons like the shotgun or sniper.. much like how Halo is already. - I implemented a system to allow everyone to pick up weapons/powerups within about 5 seconds of spawning, but after that they can't pick anything up to make sure races stick to their own weapons. - This is a map pack, so there's going to be quite a few released, each one varying in size/purpose. * Further explanation is in my original thread, if you're still interested. As far as this map goes, I'm about 80% done. I have to add a few more aesthetic touches, place the rest of the spawns and weapons, and I'll be finished and ready to move onto the next map.
Older, Aliens vs Predator 2. I didn't really care much for the newer AVP maps, the old ones worked out a lot better. I'd also like to add that this is probably as simple as it's going to get with this map pack. I started on this one second because I wanted to do something simple after the last one. The other ones a pretty big and will take a while before I get anything real to show off. I'll have some updates on this one a bit later today most likely.
Ok I like the layout and AVP is awesome btw. One thing I saw because I am OCD is that you should definitely add banks in the crevices on the inclines so players do not get stuck. I am guessing its not finished but I would gladly help test it.
