    Named gallium for its smooth feel while playing.

    This is my first forged competitive map ever so yeah...

    Just finished the basic geometry for gallium and i figured i would get some opinionsnon the layout.

    This is the center of the map

    With sniper spawn at the far end of this area

    If from the POV of the first image u turn around, that is where evade spawns, and if you move forward, there is a drop off to sword spawn (sword spawn is FANCY o_O)

    If you look left from that last image there is two halls, one to red spawn
    [​IMG]
    And one to red teleporter
    (view all the way down evade hallway with raised middle section above sword and reds teleporter at end)

    ( through two doors to left is evade hall and red teleporter )

    Opposite red hall is blue hall, which connects to blue evade hall and blue teleporter is below and to the right of picture window (blue hall looking at sword)

    If u look at picture 5 in the bottom left is blue hall, and the teleporter is right below monitor.

    If you move forward along the center platform to sniper and turn right u see :

    And as u move forward u see:

    At the end of that area u can turn right and drop down onto red spawn, or turn left and move to arc throigh this tunnel

    This is arc, it has reciever node for both teleporters as well as path in from blue spawn amd red spawn

    Concussionnrifle to combat sword spawns in here

    And reciever node (at spoke farthest from sniper spawn, which is at the bottom of the walkway larges where they convirge, highest reaching spoke of the arc from the first pic of the arc)

    The arc also connects to the side of the center platform area (right side if looking at arc frim sword)(directly to left of this picture is outlet of tunnel coming from that area earlier)

    And left side

    ( directly to right of that pic is a tunnel outlet to blue spawn)

    If u go back to first picture, move forward and turn left you see

    If wiewed from the opposite side you see
    [​IMG]

    Their is another floor below where blue spawns
    ( in pic u can see outlet of blue tunnel to sword, blue teleporter, blue bottom floor, and blue spawn)

    (if you were ro travel directly upwards from that last pic you would see that little inlet from 2 pics ago)

    This is cheesy overused fail rock structure which will probably go away, you can see blue tunnel to arc, and directly below monitor is blue spawn and blue bottom floor

    I had a chance to do a walk through of this map last night. Looks like it would play very well and the aesthetics and attention to detail is great. Rogue, if you need some better screenshots I could probably take some from my walk through last night and put them on my photobucket.

    Nibs...his problem is he doesn't have a HD on his box so he can't save screenshots. I'll try to get some better pictures for him later tonight as I messed around on it last night with him.

    There really is some unique design and great detail on this map.

    You don't have to have HD. Just follow that guide and you'll get the same picture quality as everyone else.

    Maybe I'm mistaken, but he's saying he can't even do theater mode because he doesn't have a hard drive...so he can't even take the images to host them online.

    Yeah nibbles i dont have a hard drive so it wont let me enter theater and take screen shots, and your wrong, my pictures are only ONE level above **** :)
    Thanks for the comments guys, my roof will be placed soon and its on to Playtesting :D

    I put weapons, spawns, and a roof on the map and except for playtesting further its almost done.

    Shoutout to erupt from helpong bring my map from the brink of the 'y' button :), ur help was awesome

    If you had a chance to play a game on this map post your comments and opinions on it, because i absolutley love all your feedback XD

    Epic rock wall is epic. Epic teleporters are also epic.

    lol, anyways... I'm not liking the center as much without the window coliseums... but I'll live. Let me know when you wanna run tests, I'll be up for it. Hopefully. :p Great job on your first competitive map!

    I remember you showing me this a while back and it looked pretty cool then. If you want, I can go into forge on here with you tomorrow and take some screenshots for you.

    Psychoduck, yeah that would be awesome when i finally release the map for DL, thanks man:)

    Edit: psycho, you could also help me tweak my spawn system for objective gametypes if you want. Im not sure how to do that. My spawning system so far hasnt given a single bad spawn yet, but im lost on ctf and all those other spawning systems :/

    Update: i finished upnthe new version of gallium, now kinda supports KOTH.
    changes:
    sloped the sides of the middle plateau- easy acess
    Moved grenades to more visible spot
    Increased smoothness innsome parts
    Lowered health pack / strut in red pit
    Added KOTH varient (more to come)

    I plan to submit thisnto the TG tomorrow night, unless you devoted DLoaders find a problem.
    I encourage 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 (untested - hectic? U tell me), 3,4,5,6man FFA on all slayer varients and KOTH

    Played a game of Rumble Pit on this last night. Was pretty fun. There was 5 of us in there and it gave you a feel for where all the fighting was going to take place. I think it would make for a fun fast paced 4v4 or a decent 3v3 map. I also took some screenshots for rogue and I'm thinking he's going to be posting a version 2 thread later today.

    Just played 3 vs 3 in this map earlier and it was awesome. I was a little lost at first but quickly got my bearings, and the layout flowed really well. Some really cool aesthetic use of pieces I hadn't seen before. Really looking forward to the final version.

    If you need more testing I'll be one for a little bit tonight Rogue. Though I would like to get some more work done on my map. I'd love to get a 4v4 on this map though.

    Thanks so much for ur support ociee, i had a great time testing with all of you and i cant wait to play some more games with you, damn eightball solidifying their lead, he is too good on MY map :)

    I was really wanting to play this map last night, but got caught up trying to finish my map. Wanna do some Custom games tonight. Couple on your map couple on mine. Crazy kings is nuts on Rampart II! :)
