As I was recently promoted within the Review Hub I decided that we were in need for some drastic changes.
A couple of these have already shown light, but rest assured many more are still in the works.
However as it stands right now, this instant, we have a hard time collecting and keeping members in our lovely organization.
As a result I want to take a simple survey to see the main reasons why people hesitate to join the RH.

Please choose from the choices above.

    TG is much cooler /toll

For me, the only reason is my bad English, I have no problem with testing/analyzing/rating/... a map, but I would need several hours to write RH worthy feedbacks.
In addition to that, I found the TG first and fell in love with it ;)

I don't feel like working with other people who are extrinsically motivated to get a colored username.

To be fair, their motives should have no influence on your personal capacity for reviewing.

And if our interests were only in a colored user name there are much easier ways to go about doing that.

I spent an average of five hours on mine, and I am a very fast writer. I think you underestimate yourself o_O

I would say, Not Interested. I don't feel like I need to be a part of groups to become a respected member of the community (I like to think I am, considering how long I've been here). A lot of people think that when joining the groups, both TG, RH, and now CL (I'm not saying you do, but some do).

Honestly, I think the idea of giving out loyal for them is a bit asinine, The ranks should be as close to gray as then can be, because some of the members (past, present, and future) of said groups don't realize that when they are of a different color, i.e. purple, they represent our community as a whole, and when they act the way they do, it gives a negative vibe to other communities, like back in the H3 days with the interlocking and aesthetics making a map then gameplay.

And I'm not saying that is what is happening now, but that mentality hovers a round a bit, or so it seems at least to me.

I also don't agree with the idea of not giving out 10's in the review, so then it really turns into a grading scale of 9 or 8, making 7's or 8's more like 9's and 10's, which is kind of stupid, in my opinion. If you're gonna do that, just say it's a 9, and not a 7.

I think the amount of work, time, and process at which joining works, no need to change it. I just feel that when you look over people applying for the group, that they should have a personality when they review. It makes for a better read, and when you have better writers, you should get more business.

I would join both but when is I get online to play halo is completely spontanious. I cant even stick to a time schedule for testing maps cos I might be doing something else.

If I could though I would join both the TG and RH.

    @robbieagray RH=Review Hub

Firstly I didn't even realise anyone could join until this thread was started.
Secondly I don't get online enough to play customs, my connection is terrible.

Edit: Though I am interested, so I might join in time.

and to topic: no time aka MEGALAZY / maybe my english isn't good enough for that :D but the laziness (or lazyness?) is much harder to beat, than writing in english :p

    Why I haven't joined:
-Don't know how well I could organize groups of people to test maps.
-Don't completely understand all of the concepts of competitive maps.
-Not a naturally good writer but with editing and drafts might not be a problem.

    Why I would join:
-I know a lot of the concepts and techniques to know the limits and possibility of forge and custom game options.(and weapons/vehicles and most parts of halo)
-Which gives me good incite into any mini games on knowing how to improve them or if it's even possible to improve.
    -If I cannot find a way to break a map it's unbreakable.(Break:escape,huge advantage,disrupt gameplay,etc)

Basically I don't know if I could organize groups of people to test the maps and I wouldn't be the best at Reviewing competitive maps but If been able to review mini games awesomely and been able to review Aesthetic,Race,Casual maps up to standard makes up for my cons I would gladly join the RH and that's my honest answer.

I would probably have to say that not enough time is my answer to this post. I am just too busy with college work and occasional gameplay on halo reach to really apply for it. sorry. :(

I would love to be able to spend the time playing community maps and giving constructive criticism for them to improve, but I just can't juggle my day to day life, relationship, band, my own playing time and forging and then playing maps and writing about them on top of it.

Maybe if I was 16 again.

If you are really in need of new members I guess I will apply. Writing has always been one of my strong suits.

Everyone thinking about joining, just try it. What's the worst that could happen? You choose the maps you review, whether it be mini-games or competitive maps.
