Smokestack is a smaller more vertical map than most in Halo Reach. However, there are a lot of pathways that lead to the apex, where the Falcon sits. Weapons include: 1 Shotgun 1 Plasma Launcher 3 DMRs 1 Plasma Cannon 2 Plasma Pistols 1 Needler 1 Magnum Handgun 1 Machine Gun Turret A few Plasma and Hand grenades Vehicles: 1 Falcon Smokestack is best for smaller Team Slayer games (2v2,3v3,4v4,5,5). It supports Slayer also. The normal Team Slayer gametype is recommended for this map. Thanks to the many game tests from a delicious ham, SeaKnigge, and Tiny Tyco Owo, Bootron, and Widowmkr. The map was originally submitted to the Forgetacular contest, but the early iteration failed miserably to make any showing on Bungie playlists. It's way better now. Enjoy! epic map! I like the idea of it. it has a little bit of pinnicle with it but seems to hold its own when it comes to being originial. Great job and a good way to kick off at Forge hub. keep up the forging. Map rating: 9/10
Really like the layout of this map, but the falcon feels a bit like overkill, maybe put rockets up there instead?
The first thing I see when I look at this map is that there are plenty of pathways and levels, which is good and could make for some intense and interesting gameplay. It doesn't look like you used much aesthetics, but that doesn't really matter as much as gameplay does. I think this map might be alittle too small to have a falcon on the map, but I can't judge just from the pictures. Solid, easy layout, just the way I like it. Welcome to Forgehub.
I tried putting rockets on the level, instead of the plasma launcher, but it couldn't lock on to the Falcon quite as easily. Replacing the falcon with Rockets is not a bad idea.. I'll play with it, but I really like having an Event take place on the level (hearing the Falcon gearing up for take off as you scramble to take cover!) Thanks for the suggestion. [br][/br]Edited by merge: @8Ball, thanks for the comments.. yeah the Falcon 'seems' overpowering.. but I tried to make the risk/reward of it ok for both the Pilot/Gunners and the players stuck on the island. Having enough cover was a big issue in early iterations, but I think it's pretty good now to move around on the ground while the Falcon is in the air.
its an interesting idea and layout...not original but it still works...the map could use some aesthetic value in the map...also the map is small so it doesnt have many different way the map could play out i nthe gamplay...you could and parts to the map so it has more options on the map for playablity...also the weapons list seems a little overpowered for the map...the falcon also shouldnt be their because whoever gets that win s the map and just guns down or spawn kills the other team...
