    Attack on Solstice

So, here I am again... First post for Reach, and I hope you guys like it. So far I've spent about a week working on this, and two testing it. I've used up almost every penny of the budget and I think I've made one of the more intense Invasion maps you'll play. (Hopefully)

So without further ado, I would like to present Solstice.

Solstice is an invasion map set on the cliffside and valley of forgeworld. The attackers are the Elites, while the defenders are the UNSC.

    Phase One

During phase one the objectives are com satellites used by the radar dish down below. Spartans must defend, Elites must destroy. Simple.

(You can also see the beginning of phase two in this picture.)

    Here are some close ups:

    Satellite A
    [IMG]
(The barrier was put in place as the Spartans could camp Satellite B while still firing upon A.)

    Satellite B
    [IMG]

Once the Satellite dishes are destroyed the Elites press forward to the Generator

    Phase 2

The objective in phase 2 as Spartans is to kill the bomb carrier and protect the generator. The objective as the Elites is to bring the bomb to the generator and defend it.

(Please note that this picture was taken in forge. The vehicles in this picture don't appear until phase 3.)

    Close ups:

Once the generator is destroyed phase 3 will begin and four changes will be made to the map around you:

    1. The shield door will open giving you access to the teleporter bridge.

    Before
    [IMG]

    After
    [IMG]

    2. Vehicles will appear for the Elites by the bridge
    [IMG]
(Note that the wraith does not appear immediately)

    3. Weapons will spawn in the valley

    4. Vehicles will appear for the Spartans in the valley.

    Phase 3

The objective of phase 3 as the Spartans is to hold off the Elite attack and defend the newly exposed core. Your objective as an Elite is to take the core and take it to the secretly installed interstellar teleporter in the water.

Weapons and vehicles in Phase 3:

    Vehicles:

    Elites:
    Wraith x1
    Ghost x4
    Revenant x2

    Spartans:
    Mongoose x5
    Defualt Warthog x2
    Gauss Warthog x1
    Rocket Warthog x1

    Weapons:

    Elites:
    Focus rifle x1
    Plasma Launcher x1

    Spartans:
    Grenade Launcher x1
    Rocet Launcher x1
    Sniper Rifle x1

    Notes about phase 3:
    1. The Spartans will spawn all around the buildings you see by the core.
    2. The core does not get reset, even moving it a little can help your team immensely.
    3. There is a rocket hog by the radar dish.

If you don't like the effects on, look at the 4th picture down, the effect ball is on the half pyramid piece.

    Tips and tricks:

    Phase 1:

Phase 1 General: You have five minutes, move quickly and be smart about which territory you go after.
    Phase 1 Attackers:
-Have everyone go at satellite A, then switch over to B immediately after everyone dies.
    Phase 1 Defenders:
-Spam grenades and use your pistol

    Phase 2:

Phase 2 General: You have five minutes, use them wisely as this part of the invasion gets REALLY intense.
    Phase 2 Attackers:
-Run the bomb up as far as possible and then have someone cause a distraction. Once the bomb is inside, it usually stays inside.
    Phase 2 Defenders:
-The bomb carrier is more important than some random Elite with a sword, remember that he can kill you with one hit too.

    Phase 3:

Phase 3 General: You have ten minutes.
    Phase 3 Attackers:
-The core doesn't reset, moving it a little helps a lot.
-You can switch to the backfield spawn and then jump off the cliff, this puts you right next to the core.
    Phase 3 Defenders:
-Stay near the core, going wandering off can get you killed or let the enemy sneak behind you.

You may want to spread out the first two objectives. Make the one on the hill farther over to the left, thats my suggestion. But this is a pretty epic map over all good job.
