That's not a question in the title, by the way, it's just badly worded. I think it would have been awesome to be able to edit Campaign maps into multiplayer stages. Aside from the fact that all original multiplayer maps exist in some point of the Campaign, there are a lot of areas I run into that look like they could be awesome for multiplayer with just a little bit of tweaking. The ability just to set some boundaries (there could be a system in place to limit the size of the map), drop some weapons, some spawn points, objectives, maybe a few extra tweaks here and there, but all still within the campaign level, would have near-infinitely expanded the range and styles of Forge map possibilities. Pipe dream, I know, but I can't help thinking it would have been possible and freaking awesome. EDIT: Oh and I know these spaces can be remade in Forge, a la Cargo Port, but it's not the same.
that would be cool as hell, I the first big building in nighfall would be cool for assault, but its not gonna happen, EVER. great idea though.
It would have been incredibly awesome to have a Forge World that didn't have an assload of framerate issues whenever you wanted to make a map that looks halfway decent.
Desert forgeworld, snow forgeworld, blank forgeworld. The desert one would have sandtrap in the middle, made out of the new forge blocks, and would feature cliffy outcroppings surrounding the entire map, as well as an oasis. It'd still all be circular, just on massive scale compared to current forgeworld. You could build a GIANT racetrack around the whole thing if you wanted. There'd also be some palm trees for aspiring arborists The snow one would be Halo CE styled, with towering cliffs rising over snowy passages, with built-in grand entrances for bridges, and some cool interior networks. There'd also be a section where one of the cliffs is shorter, so you can build stuff on top of it. Oh, and there'd be spaces for both Avalanche and Lockout, perfect little Lockout nook for the win. The blank one would simply be a skybox with no actual geometry, either space themed or just plain white. You'd start on a forged platform and could simply make your standard floaty maps there without as much lag as before, alongside some low-polygon count objects and possibly an increased budget. That's what I'd like.
great Idea, it will keep the whiners at bay while letting those who like maps space to breath, and it would put off space from the 600+ maps I have on forgeworld
