Hey guys, this is the first forge map I have made using the Halo Reach Forge.

I know it isn't the best, but lemme know what you think.

Here is the description for the Map: Abandon

A battle training zone for UNSC Spartans. Once the covenant attacked, the course was left to decay. Supports 4-8 players

[IMG]This map is a medium/small map taking place on the cliff of Forgeworld. It supports 4 to 8 players on the Team slayer gametype.

It is rather straightforward, yes but I was looking for a constant fire-team engagement, where teamwork is key to push up to the power weapons located in the center. Also, I tried to make my map in a way that it shows the power of the AR/DMR. There are a few extra weapons laying around, but when ammo gets scarce. AR is plentiful.

    Weapon placements:
-DMR/AR on both buildings (First and second floor)
-Needle rifle on 2 floor on both sides (Main base)
    - x2 Shotguns (One on both sides)
    -Rocket Launcher (Center, 3rd level)
    -Sword (Center, Ground level)

As for how the map plays, I imagined it as though both bases were fighting for supremacy on the outside, Spawns are restricted to the insides of the respective buildings to (hopefully) give it the feel of defending a base, and holding the line until reinforcements make it to the front line. Some players who like to be Sneaky, there are some spots for them to invade the base, IF they play it carefully.

There are roughly 3 levels to both buildings, but one of them was incomplete due to time/budget/Object constraints when building the map. Though one side lacks the full build, I doubt it will place the spawning team at any disadvantage if they work together and push into the enemy base. In the courtyard between the 2 maps, I have placed sandbags and barriers to help players find cover during the firefight, and with a little luck, they will find the ability to push the other team back into their base, and allow the successful team to acquire the power weapons and make the other team fight harder for the win, or suffer heavy losses.

As for the Slayer variant, I will have to edit the map to find the right spawn placements. Like I mentioned, being my first forge map, I am not sure how to place these without constant spawn trapping within my map.

Your post isn't up to standards. Fix the following issues, or your post will be Locked.
    • All map posts require at least one embeded picture or video.
    • Add a description of at least 500 characters. (it's easy)
    • Give information about your map.

Follow these few steps and you'll have yourself a great map post. For future referance, read the Rules when visiting new forums. It'll save you a lot of time and correction.

    Cheers,
    HarisSales.

Hey, I would still improve your description a little bit - I like your intro but perhaps you could include some more info on how the map plays out? Or weapon locations?

All of this extra information will help your thread to become more successful. ^^
