So, new to forgehub, but been forging since i bought halo 3.

I know a soccer map has been done before, but this is a project i did for fun and for me and my friends to play.

anyway, everything is in working order, ball return system goals and everything, except for one thing. I cant get the flags to sit on top of a fusion coil and drop when said coil has exploded. can somebody please explain to me how this works? I know it can be done because i've seen it work on the skeeball map but i cant figure it out.

    thank you

Maybe switch to a mine instead of a fusion coil holding up the flag? I know in my version the mines worked well, and set the radius of the flag span to the shape of the mine or fusion coil.

ah, I hadn't even given the fusion coil a shape for the flag to spawn.

currently, I use mines to detect the ball entering the goal which set off a link of fusion coils that drop the flag over the actual stockpile goal.

    thank you

so figured out my problem, the flags are spawning next to the fusion coils instead of on it. working out this problem now.

nowhere in that thread did I find an exact explanation as to how his scoring system worked.

Besides thats not really my exact problem, I have a scoring system that works fine, I just can't get my flags to spawn on top of and stay on top of the fusion coils that hover above the stockpile goals.

At the end there are some pics that show it.

Can you explain the problem with the flags not staying on the fusion coils a bit more. Are they falling through the fusion coil or just sliding off. I think he might have actually used landmines to support the flags. You can always put a crate on top of the fusion coils.

The scoring system Graybes used in Smashball works every time from what I can tell, and I stole it for my own Trackball. You might try that. Trackball is in my sig and fileshare - you should be able to find Smashball on Forgehub just by searching for it. (Smashball is essentially soccer, by the way, and I highly recommend it just on its own merits.) This mechanism doesn't require explosives to work.

BTW, this should be called football, not soccer, get it right :p

Anyways, as far as i can tell, you dont want the fusion coil to be the flag spawn, i think you need to use the hill marker and place it on top of the coil, this means that the flag will spawn on top of the coil, rather than next to it. if you use a flag stand and/or a capture plate the flag will not drop down, so you will have to use hill markers to make sure it drops down.

I hope this works, and if it doesn't you can tie me to a post and "beat" me...

    KTHXBYE
