    I have a question...

    if this shouldn't have its own thread... please lock it and let me know where i can find myself an answer :)

    Anyways... I was wondering if it's possible to make a weapon that can only be picked up by a curtain team?
    I know you can change the 'team' of the weapon... but I don't think that actually works in my case... so yeah if its possible, can someone please let me know.

    Ahh not in normal slayer.

    Any gametype where you can customize traits of the teams individually like Infection for example you can make the traits of one team "Pick up weapons: Yes" other team "Pick up weapons No". It's not ideal but closest you can get.

    Also I'm pretty sure changing the 'team' of the weapon in forge does nothing.

    Infection is the only gametype that allows separate attacker and defender traits. Depending on the situation, however, you can usually put the weapons somewhere that would be much more difficult for one team to reach than the other thus effectively making the weapons for one team only. You can also use the respawn traits so players can only pick up a weapon for a certain amount of time after they spawn.

    Changing the team for a weapon only works if the weapon is being used as an objective.

    Cheers for the help...

    The map im designing is very simple but heaps of fun (slayer&objective) and I want to reward players that get past/close to the opponents base. This would encourage players playing on the map to push up and 'not camp' in a way.

    So yeah thanks again...

    and if anyone has any ideas or tips that could work...

    Just an idea. You could put an instant kill barrier around the weapon so if they try to pick it up they die. This would only work though if you can assign kill barriers to a team so that it only affects the opposite team.

    yeah cheers man ill give that a shot.

    I guess since the weapon thing is seeming impossible...

    Is there any way i could reward a team for getting to a curtain part of the map?
    pretty much i want to encourage players to push to curtain parts of the map and to do this i obviously need to put something worth while.

    Eh, the best I could think of is some type of incentive. Like on sanctuary (asylum for those who don't play MLG), each team has a sniper. Depending on the LOS and how large the map is, a 1 or 0 spare clip sniper rifle is always an option. Any other power weapon for that matter too, it's usually easy to control player movement with power weapons.

    just don't make hanging back profitable, like in team snipers in hemorrhage
    put some higher ground in the middle or give each team an extended arm of their base into the enemies side

    this is bugging me though
    certain, not curtain (unless it has some odd meaning I'm unaware of)

    It doesn't help you guys that you have no idea what the map is like :p
