This is a new map I began building and designing a few days ago. It's coming together quite rapidly and I figured I'd show the community what I have so far. I'll be finishing weapon placement, objectives and spawns shortly. The map is an asymmetrical map intended for slayer and team slayer matches. I'm hoping it'll work well for king of the hill, oddball and headhunter as well. I'm trying to make it MM friendly, so in it's current state I've only used around 4,500 of my budget (not too shabby!) (side note, the jet pack below is just there to test boundaries, and won't be found in the final build) This is my first attempt at building an asymmetrical map intended for Slayer FFA and 4v4 Team Slayer. So the results should be quite interesting.
A few days ago? It looks like a BTB map that's been through rigorous testing and tweaking for months! Jesus you forge fast. Anyways, it looks awesome. I wish I had the ability to forge an outdoor map, or a map involving and kind of trees, grass, whatever. I find it extremely difficult, so I commend you for being able to do forge this type of map. So I hope I can get in on a test on this at some point in time.
Ooooooh! ^my faic. Looks pretty damn good, considering the time that's gone into it thus far. Suppose we could get an overview?
looks pretty impressive. And look it even has a tree. FEATURED NOMINEE. Just kidding but judging how satisfied I was with Abridged I can predict good things for this map.
Yeah this map has come together incredibly quick. I'm attempting to build this map as bare bones as possible (trying to eventually get this into MM) and I think that's why it's been so quick to complete. I usually build all of my own geometry as well because I hate being forced to adapt my ideas to pre-existing geometry... but this part of forgeworld just seemed to work with what I wanted to do. It's something I'd like to do more often with future projects, mainly because it saves me a good deal of budget. As a funny side note, I found a little blip bungie made on this area of the map, there is a tree floating a good foot off of the ground. So I had to hide it by placing a rock right below it. Does it make sense? Nope, but will people notice it while fragging friends? Probably not. lol I'm not near my xbox right now, but as soon as I get a chance I'll post an overhead shot.
looks like a couple days of work to me. I think though building fast(if you dont know what you want to do) is the layout. However i love the look of this so far. Keep up the good work
lololololololollololollolololololollo. I found it. You can shoot under it and throw nades under it and everything. Bungie fail. haha
For a map that you only started a few days ago, it definitely looks to be coming along well. It's good to see some more Asymmetrical 4v4 maps being forged. Also, there's actually quite alot of trees that aren't completely in the ground all around Forge World. I haven't managed to find the one you mentioned earlier yet. -.-
I finally have gotten around to getting a rendered video of the map. I've just began testing, so expect to see this hitting the forums in about two weeks. [bungievid]13152659[/bungievid]
As someone who really liked Abridged I gotta tell you, the map looks great. Your maps have a similarity in them in that they are large expanses and yet at any point on the map there are intermediate distance sight lines at best or less, nothing that truly shows how large the map is. That is brilliant placement of tactical jumps. All I have to say is I'll be one of the first to download.
Soon! I finally managed to get a balanced weapon set, now I'm finishing spawns! I've been busy with outside life but it will be posted soon!
