NO, despite what you all say, there is a downfall to all these guns: AMMO. You will run out and have to buy/find more. And dont say "well eridian (alien) weapons regenerate" cause ya they do but you gotta wait. Thats why the best gun or i should say the best secondary gun in the whole game (if not the best you should ALWAYS have it equipped) is the : Repeater with UNLIMITED AMMO AND NO RELOADING, does like 60 damage and is insane. No reloading and it doesnt waste bulets, just run around with ur finger on the trigger and done, the enemies wont stand a chance. To get it you have to complete the quest to find all the seperate parts in rust commons east ( or salt flats, i forget )
Double Anarchy (New Game ++ version) It has a high attack, shoots 4 bullets at a time, and reloads extremely fast. I can defeat the Rakk Hive (Or w/e that big boss is called) in 2-3 clips.
My friend modded it and got a bunch of modded weapons. My favorite was a shotgun that shot exploding balls that would explode into smaller exploding balls. Balltacular!
Have fun killing crawmerax or really any high level with a pistol that does 60 damage. I've found a chimera that does about 800 damage. I've also got a nice anarchy that is 140 X4. There are others, I just can't remember off the top of my head.
I think my strongest guns are a vicious orion and and anarchy anarchy. Well my strongest legit weapons anyway.
Favourite combat rifle: a Desert Raven with 180 something damage, 80 something accuracy and 10+ fire rate. Also, it fires in 5-round bursts. 2.7x scope. I'm only level 50 atm, so my guns aren't all that great. Favourite shotty has 212 x 9 damage, 26.9 accuracy and a 2.6(?) fire rate. I forgot what zoom scope it has. Best revolver is a desert anaconda, with: 418 damage, 80+ accuracy, and a fire rate of about 2.5. 1.5x zoom as well.
When I had it, I found a modified pistol that shot a crazy spiraly bullet that was pretty epic, it didnt do as much damage as some of the other guns I had but it was still really cool
I was just farming crawmerax and got a Jakobs Skullmasher with damage: 350x6 accuracy:95.0 fire rate 0.5 and a sweet smg steel stinger damage : 244 accuracy: 94.9 fire rate 13.4
I have a pearlescent Sniper that does over 1000 base damage... I dont know much about its details though... havent played the game in ages. One of my personal favorites was a shotgun named Friendly Fire that shot smiley faces
I have a Pestilent Defiler on my Lv 66 Siren. It does 784 with x4 Corrosive. The down side is that I only have two bullets / clip, but because I'm a siren, I get that corrosive bonus every time.
I had that (Or a similar gun) for quite a while. And to be honest, after about 3 levels I scrapped it. It may have unlimited ammo, but hell its a weak as **** gun even before playthrough 2. Hell using it on Knoxx's armory is suicide. And your argument about ammo is invalid. I rarely run out of ammo, and when I do, I have 3 other guns with full clips too. Ive went quite a while without buying ammo, and I do fine. One thing I find in Borderlands is that people really try to have a weapon for every possible situation. Its common to see people using a Shotgun, Sniper, Combat Rifle and an SMG or something of that sort. I usually carry around 2 insanely powerful SMG's, an incredibly powerful combat rifle and a Sniper. My best weapon is an smg that shoots two bullets at a time and does 380 damage per shot. And its got a high fire rate too.
Best gun jedinik13 here had level 48 character hunter with a shotgun with 135x12 damage 91 accuracy and i forgot but crappy fire rate and my jerk friend said he was going to copy it for me and stole it and wont give it back till i give him all of my invintor i said no confronted him a during a class and no i get it back friday but the rest of that story was a lot of yelling and me taking his pencils, pens and paper from his room every day for 2 weeks victory is mine with the force on my side

I forgot about this thread again I have a sniperifle that does 1477 damage, 94% accuracy fire rate of 6 and 500% Burstfire. It's pretty much amazimg. Edit: 2000th post, bitches.
I just started my 2nd playthrough and I found a fully automatic sniper rifle that does 500-600 damage and the clip is 15 bullets.
im a level 36 soldier, and the best weapons that i have is the 1001 eridian cannon and the 11011 eridian lightning.
