Lineage was the first project i started working on in reach's forge and a rebuild of a halo 3 map I made. it was meant to be a simple way for me to transition into reach's new forge options. rather then releasing it upon completion, i revisited it every few months to rebuild and update it as i unlocked more and more potential with reach's new forge.

an extremely rough way to describe the general layout is that it's 4 parallel hallways stacked on top of 4 parallel basement hallways. if that makes you think its 2 elongations stuck side by side, i have to apologize for misleading you and say that it isnt. due to the way the edge halls are subtlety kinked and the ramp ups are positioned to prematurely end certain halls, its quite a bit more complex then that, and doesnt play like a elongation/narrows map. gameplay is dominated by half map line of sight dmr battles with a healthy dose of basement flanking.

    weapons:
    4 dmrs, 20 sec
    2 nrs,45 sec
    2 plasma pistols, 45 sec
    2 concussion rifles, 45 sec

    2 snipes, 1 spare clip, 120 sec
    1 grenade launcher, 120 sec

    4 frags
    6 stickies

    3 medpacks

its set up for just about any reasonable gametype (no race, no invasion), i'm most proud of slayer/ball/hill. enjoy.

this is a very clean looking map, great forging. i love the grid. ive used it as a window and a bridge. if you have the money i would recomend putting railings over the blue lines of the gird. they make it look more liek a real window.

its footprint is slightly larger then asylum's, but it is divided into 2 distinct floors, essentially doubling the square footage. it scales very well to different player counts, in a 2v2 you can find action quickly and easily by roaming the top, while in a 6v6 instead of finding yourself tripping over other players, you will simply end up with more time spent in the basement and back rooms.

it isnt set up for the traditional multi tiered, objective based, invasion experience, and i dont see how it could be, but it could handle something simple like invasion slayer.
