Shortcut Shortcut is a relatively large symmetrical map that supports up to 16 players. Why is it called 'Shortcut' you ask? Well, there is a long one-way shield shoot across the map. You may say "Thats ridiculous! you can get to the other side of the map in mere seconds". However this is the exact point of the shoot, can cause fast paced and crazy objective games and lots of flanking. Don't worry though, what the shoot has in speed, it lacks in cover. You can also get melee'd by on-comers as well. This map took me around 4 days to make. working on it on and off. The first day, I got the scaling all wrong and ran out of colosseum walls so I had to start again. Cool idea for a map...the lift for a fast way across the map...however the actual map is very bland and needs work in aesthetics to make the map more apealing to people...and the lift still makes me wonder how it affects the gameplay...
Yes I agree the map does look quite bland. I am no master of aesthetics but I will try and add some colour. The main problem is the object limit, I may not be able to do much aesthetics at all. I am too slightly curious about the lift/shoot. I am hoping the quick time across the map with the objective will cause more teamwork in order to stop the enemy stealing the flag/s. I could not gather a large enough amount of players to play a big team CTF or Assault. I think the Map will work well with stockpile because all though many people will be going instantly to the other side to steal flags, the flags dotted around the map will cause players to battle in other areas. When the idea of the shoot sprung to my mind I had to make the map because I was unbelievably paranoid someone would have the exact same Idea and maybe even better forging skills. It definitely turned out to be one of my favourite own slayer maps.
