"Mankind must put an end to war, before war puts an end to mankind" - John F. Kennedy Age of War is an invasion gametype based off of the ever changing ways wars and battles are fought through the ages. Begin as a medieval knight, either to defend your castle from foreign invaders or to take the castle for your own, but the one who is not slain by the sword is only to be killed by the black death. Travel to modern times, as a special forces group trying to destroy a drug cartel brought in by the gangs located in a boat next to the island's lighthouse. Following the destruction of the cartel, your squad and the enemy will be blown to pieces by the start of the nuclear war, leading both sides to fight over the limited resource Earth now offered; water. Whether you be a warrior or a pacifist, watch and take part of war's deadly stages, and be a part of history.
hot damn that looks awesome! it probably needs a better discription and more picures though, even so I will test this with you. One question is it all swords in the first phase. and did I mention hot damn the athstetics look pretty sweet.
I was part of one of the testing parties last night and all I can say is that it's awesome. Great idea! The 1st phase is especially original. I loved the use of lighting in the last phase. The 2nd phase is pretty much basic invasion, not much stands out espcially. Overall it's a great experience, very good forging.
This was soo awesome! I didn't think an Invasion map like this could be done well. A first phase of just swords, hammers, AND a Revanant!? Unpresedented (Spell check?). The aesthetics were beautiful. It took me a little bit to understand the purpose of the last phase but after someone said "Nuke!", I instantly got it. This is just too awesome for me to wait.
Thank all of you for the kind comments, I'm glad anthraxe and moa could be apart of the first test, but believe me, many more will be coming! I think i have perfected the gametype, and I plan to do something to spruce up the 2nd phase a little bit, but I hope that this map can be up this Sunday or the next!

I am glad to see that you have the preview up! I enjoyed testing and help editing the map/gametype. I am glad that you got the special effects for the nuke to work, it looks good! And im glad you got the "catipult" to work too, haha its a great idea. The boat was made very well and looks great. The medieval castle and the nuke shelter also look fantastic. Overall, great job and i look forward to this map finaly getting posted!
The final phase reminds me of Fallout, with the elites as strange creatures traversing the wasteland. This obviously is quite the deviation from standard invasion, so I commend you on moving away from what is considered typically; it's rare to see original concepts implemented into maps lately. One way that this could be even better would be the implication of a switch that would give a certain team an advantage. That would do wonders at setting this map apart from others. Otherwise, the concept is nice, and, as I mentioned, a nice change in pace.
Jackson: thank you for the comments, I'm glad you came to my aid when I had several problems and issues with the map/gametype. The map advanced a lot due to your opinions and help. Plasma: by switch, what do you mean? I have around $1000 budget left, so I sure can do SOMETHING. just what do you mean by switch?
