Origin of Symmetry Creator: THE Fuglystick Track Name: Origin of Symmetry Map Name: Forge World Average Lap Time: 1:45 # Of Checkpoints: 24 Description: Hi there everyone! This is my map, Origin of Symmetry (name after a real good album by a real good band), and the first map designed specifically for the racing style of the Dirty Racing League. As you may notice, this is very reminiscent of the opening portion of my previous map, Pipedream. Indeed when I first imagined that part of the track, I started to wonder about the possibilities of building a whole map that revolved around collision points in an enclosed area. This is the fruit of my labors. The map is set up to maximize collisions and forces drivers to keep on the look out for other competitors as they navigate the turns and jumps. For anyone who is a fan of dirty, filthy, racing, this map was designed for you to get your nasty on. Video: Coming Soon! Pictures: What inspired your creation? My map, pipeline, had an opening section with plenty of intersecting paths. I wanted to make a whole map around that concept. How long did it take to create? I've been working on this map since a few days after pipeline was posted, a few hours at a time. I'm not that sure of how long it actually took.. What aspect took you the longest to get right? No one part really took that long. The conception of how to make the map symmetrical, but make it varied enough to be entertaining, took me the most time. I spent a lot of time just brainstorming ideas for how the ideal set up and route would look.
I saw the title and had to comment. Everyone should go look up this album. It's unbelievably good. Also, the map looks pretty sweet. I love the different style it has. I haven't seen many indoor race maps, and this looks awesome.
Downloading because of the name. Your ploy has worked! I'll edit this with my thoughts when I get around to playing it.
I never download race maps since I only really play MLG, but I will download this because Muse is amazing and Origin of Symmetry is an incredible album. Well played, well played.
I first downloaded this blind through a fileshare search. I'm impressed, not only that you could come up with such an interesting concept, but that it all makes sense and flows logically. Not once in my first blind run did I ever have to slow down and guess which way to go. Now I just have to find a big group to play it (collide) with.
