    HALO SPIRE

Welcome to my new invasion & slayer map.
This is my first aesthetic catagory post although many have said my maps are aesthetic, and seeing 'maps made to look good' I agree to some degree

This new map, was just messing around building a huge circle with walls, I did have a plan in mind but I have moved away from initial idea to create a huge invasion map, that also works with slayer and jug.

    2 x machine guns
    2 x plasma turret

Invasion is set to territories, ctf then assault.

The load-outs are dmr or assault with sprint or medic + pistol

You always do such interesting things with the forge tools. Nice shapes, etc. I will take a look to see how you did it.... Lookin good!

Hey you always do interesting things. this really reminds me of the orbital space elivator from ODST. How much budget do you have left? cause it would be interesting to add more of an urban theme andmake the tower more like the elavotor. Apart form that idea i love the colloseum wall circle

I've seen your work in the past, and gotta say that you have a unique geometric forging style. When most people hear the word Invasion, they automatically think "massive-expansive terrain", but no, it really does not have to be defined like that. The Invasion gametype opens up a lot of new possiblities. With that said, this map takes a more tactical approach rather than "run-across-forgeworld and hope to find the bad guy" It is a well crafted mix of aesthetics and a balanced layout. The other team is also not hard at all to find. I applaud you choice of some object combinations, this really did turn out great!

Thank you! This is mainly for fun. I did have big halo ring in mind, but as I couldnt build and fit such a design , I kept it to a playable size. I have completed odst and cant place the lift , which level was it on and I will take. As many of my maps this is a full budget. Although if the base is taken back to just the walls and blocks it would only cost 2000 leaving 8000 to make the map. Thanks for nice comments and checking out my maps :)

    Edited by merge:

Thanks :) , did want to edit the lift as made a cool diamond that really lights up a space instead of the rock formation. I feel the initial design has a lot of protential, as it only cost 2000 from the budget and creates lots of corridors and spaces to play. The inital idea was a load of rings made from blocks, then I thought , why not connect them all together. So there was a little luck in this map. Thanks for your feedback . I'm loving your forge art, need to re download some as lost them with red ring error.

P.s. Just read the interview with halo waypoint. Quality, and another great achievement, you are the biggest name in forge, congrats. Cant wait to see future forges :D

Yep, went in and snooped around, tore it apart, and sure enough... more stuff I haven't seen before. What I like most about your maps are the aesthetic parts you put in that don't just look good but have function and to me, add to the game. Sweet.

One of the maps I'm working on now I would have never thought to make if I didn't snoop around in your maps first, thanks.

Jesus, you sure like making vertical maps as well as rotated pieces of art. All of your maps contain those features. I suggest trying something else as well.

Not all my maps ...but most yeah. This map is in aesthetics. Its an invasion map. The structure only is up slighty in the middle, it is much wider than tall. I do appreciate the comment and checking out my maps. More like my style of forging than dislike. And when I make a map with spires, towers r spun around objects i get more interest. Since starting forging in october I have had around 50000 page views , 30000 downloaded, if I had more intetest in my more normal maps I would make more.. but sadly they are lost in 114 pages of other map posts . Thanks

The fifth screenshot reminds me of the turrets you see during the halo reach campaign mission that the original Spire takes place on. :)

It looks great. Like how you used the killball at the top. :D

    Thanks :)
I put a lot into the aesthetics of this map, it took many forms before it became what you see today. This was only built for aesthetics, but it is a shame to see a map not get played on so I added a couple of gametypes. The way it is set up it could also play assault and ctf well but I haven't put any time into remaking, but it may happen in the future. thanks for your feedback and checking out my map :)

Yeah I am well aware of Matties work and he is also on my friends list and a top man. This wasn't going out copying anyone. I was building a huge aesthetic ring. I didn't copy, and to be honest I wasn't even going to publish untill I put the work in to make it into an invasion map. This was forged by me from beging to end. The ring of fire is made with the walls length ways, making that map larger than mine. And the aesthetics and structures are totally different. I do see that you see a similaritly, so do I and matty and probably anyone else who has seen both maps. But thanks for pointing it out to me directly. ;)
