Divide is a symmetrical map which features two levels. The layout is identical on both the top and the bottom levels however, this brings a new twist to the multi-team situation. Normally, all teams can fight with each other, on Divide, the green and orange team duke it out on top and the red and blue teams go at it on the bottom. It's a challenge to beat the opponent you are fighting, but a race to finish your objective before the other teams. I recommend turning jet-packs off to get the most out of this map. All suggestions are welcome and thanks for playing! All gametypes that are free-for-all and just red vs. blue take place on the bottom. Also, territories and KOTH don't work with 4 teams, Oddball is interesting w/ 4 but slayer seems to be the most intense. P.S. you should lower respawn times if you're playing 2v2v2v2 or 3v3v3v3 CTF or Bomb.
Gameplay on this map (or these maps, I guess) doesn't seem like they'd be too good, but I'll get more into that after I play a few more games. But I do like the whole two maps in one idea. It truly is a nice change of pace. Of course, it won't be completely fair. For instance, if red team is great and orange team is terrible, then blue team will be at a disadvantage, but that said games on this map are pretty exciting.
If anyone who has downloaded this map can actually give me feedback I would greatly appreciate it. I'm trying to do a larger scale version of this, but I don't want to do it if there are major issues with gameplay or anything like that.
The match I played on it was an interesting experience, but I found the overall layout and flow of the map to be lacking. The spaces didn't feel as though they were made with consideration to what sort of match would take place in them. Overall, I'd like to play this more, but on different map pairs.
What exactly was the issue with the flow of the maps? I have only built two or three maps and only 1 of them was supposed to be a serious map. If you have more constructive criticisms, or if any other people have some, please post it here so I can get better!
Just looking at the map, it looks basic. So I can see why people would have issues with the flow and stuff. BUT the concept is incredibly cutting edge. To be able to watch another team approach their third flag capture, you trying to get your second, and there is NOTHING you can do about it, other than keep fighting and hope you win... THAT IS OUTSTANDING PSYCHO WAR! I downloaded this map to try out myself. If you have a new one, let me know. Again the concept is clearly forward thinking!
this whole concept is absolutely fantastic. I signed in to tell you that. I'll give it a looksie when I'm on next. and I just may have to borrow this idea and put it to a smaller scale....i cant give you any feedback as far as the map itself, but you are definetly THINKING along the right lines my friend. Keep it up
I hardly ever check out the casual maps, but for some reason today I decided I would take a look! Boy am I glad that I decided to do that! All i can say is wow this is awesome! It is ideas like this that are unique gems and add to halo! You have my download! The maps kinda seem basic and a little open! I am curious to see how much of your budget you used! I will try and edit this post once i have played a few games! Overall the idea is amazing, and with proper execution I feel this could turn into something big! Keep it up!
